First off, laptop was delivered on the 22nd April, (one day from being packed to delivery which I was really happy with, I recieved a disk with drivers and also they were uploaded to the account, slight downside was I ordered two chargers but only one delivered, not a problem as a quick email to PCS and today it looks as if second charger has been despatched. PCS were very responsive to enquires and kept me updated,

Another slight downside was I ordered the 3800x but PCS informed me this was not available due to a listing error, I was happy to downgrade to a 3700x as I ordered the 3800x due to a small price difference

I have not played any games so far but from what I can tell and the short time I have had it, computer works really well, below are images, keyboard, power pack, screen and side size

keyboard.jpg

power pack.jpg

screen.jpg

side size.jpg

The display
1080p 144hz display, in the image its at medium brightness playing 1080p video, from what I can tell the screen is sharp and it makes a difference when watching videos etc, from what I can tell there is no backlight bleed

The Speakers
Better than I was expecting, yes from a laptop speakers are not going to be amazing, I personally think there above average and from the machine I had, for me its an upgrade

Battery
As expected, around 1 hr web browsing, maybe slightly longer depending on settings and what im doing

Fans
when web browsing not to bad, can be a bit loud but for this spec laptop I don't think there too noisy, I feel the cooling does its job well, all depends what im doing with the computer so I can't give a precise temp figure.

Keyboard
fine to use, theres an app from clevo that adjusts keyboard colours, brightness etc

The Weight
For this spec I really dont think its heavy, if you want a portable machine to carry with a long battery life then this machine is not designed for that. but for a powerful machine I dont think its that heavy, I aim to install linux and game on it, if I can I will update post and if I have problems with machine etc.

I dont really do benchmarks so if that is of interest then another PCS forum member has written about this on their machine, link is https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/nova-year-new-build.67960/page-2#post-471080

I thanked PCS personally and on the forum as it took 10 working days to del, considering it a global pandemic I was really happy with that

Lovely photos! You’re the second to have one. That screen really pops if that’s at medium brightness that’s pretty nice!

I’m so jealous, that’s exactly what I’m after when I do upgrade, but gotta wait a little while yet.

just to add to the review, I did a benchmark on hitman 2 own PC benchmark test that is included within the game, As this is a relatively demanding game I wanted to see how the game performed at high/ultra settings, below is a screenshot of the settings I used, the two game benchmark scenes (miami and mumbi and a screenshot of in game to show what it looks like detail wise on this new machine.

I don't think it does to bad :) (I am using Nvidia latest drivers) Just thought Id review how things are going with a demanding game

That looks amazing!! and it's the exact configuration I've been playing with. I wish I knew what the display response time was, how does it feel to game on?

That's a real beast of a laptop. I'm curious to actually try the Hitman benchmark and see how mine stacks up (Octane III). It'll be significantly lower, but it'll be a good marker for DTR 2016 vs DTR now. I only have absolution though :ROFLMAO:

Fancy doing a regular old Firestrike test with 3Dmark?

Can contest to it gaming amazing (have the same specs near enough). Having come from a 5 year old 60hz MSI laptop, the smoothness of the panel is just unreal and the performance is excellent, I wouldn't be concerned about the response time. I can't comment on how the keyboard is for gaming, as I always use external K&M but it's not bad to type on.

It's ran everything maxed out that I've tried so far, though keep in mind the most demanding things I've played so far are probably Forza, Sekiro and Jedi: Fallen Order, both I guess are fairly recent releases. These all look great and are silky smooth with no noticeable performance drops (I tend to watch the FPS counter like a hawk).

It does get pretty loud (you need headphones) when playing the more demanding titles, but there's a few really good posts going around at the moment about tweaking things a bit to make sure it keeps cool, whilst not having the fans ramp up and down. That being said, I use headphones anyway so doesn't really bother me, and for less demanding games, it's totally fine.
