New PC - any help appreciated...

Hey all,

I've noticed that there are some helpful people on here so I figured it was worth posting the specifications for my (potentially) new computer. I just want to know if there's anything with the following which either, a) won't work together properly or b) is overkill/pointless? My budget is higher than the £2000 quoted below and while I will use the computer for a number of different things, gaming will be the most taxing.

What sort of monitor are you gaming on?

All of the components will work together, I think its reasonably to suggest on configurators like these in general (and certainly PCS's in our experience) it won't let you pick components which are not compatible, or it will warn you of potential issues when you ask it to proceed with the purchase.

No matter what changes are suggested with your spec (if any) I always suggest folk opt for the Silver Warranty as a minimum for the 1 year RTB warranty (PCS pay to ship the rig back in the case of a RMA).

would also up the cooler to the H100i as a minimum, personally I’d go full whack and plonk the h115i Platinum on it.

For gaming you want to go with the 3600 CPU. The 3900X is massive overkill.

The monitor you choose determines the GPU you want to use. If it's 1080p then 1660 Super would be your choice, for 1440p it would be the 2070 Super, ultrawide the 2080 Super and for 4k the 2080Ti.

This would be a starting point for a 1080p system. Just follow the rough guide above to match the GPU to the system. Everything else has you covered other than if you are up towards the 2080 Super you will likely want to select the 750W RMx PSU as well...
