So I have bought a new 2080ti pc with an i9 9900k and there seem to be these weird marks on the graphics card when I took off the packaging and say if something does go wrong they might think I did something to it and is there anything wrong with it.
Also, I ordered some RGB stip to be applied to the pc do you guys know how I can change the colours it's on yellow rn.

To change the RGb strip colour you'll want to use the gigabyte fusion software, which may also need the gigabyte app centre

It's all under the Utility section of the motherboard downloads here:

When the PC arrived, there was a kind of expanded foam insert inside the case, between the GPU and the side panel? It looks a bit like small traces of that have stayed on the side of the GPU. Can you post a pic of what the foam insert looks like? (the side that was pressing against the GPU to hold it steady in transit)

Depends which RTX 2080 ti - there are several designs by palit. If it's the palit dual that you have, then I don't believe it does.

The GamingPro models do, but are more expensive

As for what's on the GPU it just looks like a bit of the packaging is left on there. Could be worth letting PCS know (if they get lots of reports of their packaging doing this they may want to change the packaging). It looks benign and I expect it can just be very gently wiped off the side of the GPU - with the PC turned off and non-static material. Don't wipe it with a fleece...

what material should I use as it feels like it's stuck there like a sticker or glue? I also called pcs up about this and they offered to change the GPU if I sent it back for collection and IDK if its the right call as I feel like they will just send it back how it is.
And yes its a dual Palit 2080ti i believe but i don't know what performance difference it has compared to others

I think it's just bits of the packaging that are gummed on, you can see where there are a few bits that have come away from the packaging and it looks like that's what's stuck on the GPU.

I also called pcs up about this and they offered to change the GPU if I sent it back for collection and IDK if its the right call as I feel like they will just send it back how it is.
Why on earth would you think that?

I mean what would be the point of them paying for a courier to bring the GPU back to them, and then just send you back the same one in the same state it's in now?! :)

If they're offering to swap out the GPU / clean it for you and check it's okay, I'd take them up on that offer. And I assume they are covering carriage costs as it's within your 1 month carriage costs cover period.

And yes its a dual Palit 2080ti i believe but i don't know what performance difference it has compared to others
Tiny.

The performance differences between most models of RTX 2080 ti are so small you don't need to give it any thought.
Even something like the RTX 2080 ti Matrix edition by Asus or Lightning Z by MSI only give ~7-8% more performance over a baselike 2080 ti. And those things cost £1500 or so, versus the one you have that is £950ish.
The one you have is good value. Insofar as any £1000 graphics card can ever be called a value :p

What monitor do you use with the PC out of interest?

Just putting it out there - you could have got a less expensive PC (even an i7 9700k and RTX 2080 Super) and got a much, much better monitor. :)

Upgrading the monitor should be at the top of your list of priorities for the PC, as a 1080p 144hz monitor is a major bottleneck to your gaming experience with a system like this

yeah, I know that I have been eyeing a pc like this for years but gradually changing it over the years because of hardware advancements.
I am looking to get a 4k monitor in a few months or a 1440p monitor depends if I want high hertz but I hope that this pc will do me good at 1080p at the moment.

I have learned a lot of stuff about pcs through these 2 years I have been waiting and I have tried to minimize all the bottlenecks it could have on this pc apart from the monitor of course but thanks for the help. i have had no problems yet with this pc apart from that packaging thing which i will check-up on with them but time will tell:)

I'm just worried that that resin from the packaging might have an effect on the pc in the long term that's the whole reason I made this thread as its an expensive computer
