New PC configuration

Hi!

I am just ready to click order on this machine, I will use it for C4D (physical+Octane render) and I already own a Geforce GTX 1070 to use it as a second GPU. Would be very helpful to hear any comment/suggestion about the configuration.

Thanks!

I have the 3900x with the 115i platinum cooler and so far it is amazing. Quiet and cool at the same time, although your machine will be working much harder than mine. It's also the recommended cooler on these forums and I can see why.

As well as what nurse has recommended you want to up the WiFi card to the ax200.

Don't know what you've chosen for warranty but silver is £5 for the first year.

Hmmm..I have just done a spec with the H115i and the RGB RAM and it didn't come up with an error so it may be that PCS have changed the way they situate the radiator (maybe due to Scott pointing out some recent issues with them)
We never really understood the limitation of fitting the RGB RAM with the H115i as there should t be any compatibility issues, hopefully they’ve addressed that now internally as you say.

Is it possible it was because they were siting the rads at the front of the cases rather than on top and maybe the pipes wouldn't go around the RAM due to how far it sticks out? Seems to be the most logical explanation for it to me
Rads should never be fitted at the front anyway imho.

Personally, I'd also change the Samsung M2 drive for the 1TB Gen 4 Firecuda...superior read and write speeds which will both help you and it is only £40 more, which, for the performance gains, is a bargain.

Obviously these are all dependent on your budget but, for a total of only £180, your system will be much better, esepcially from a cooling point of view which will help the longevity of it. The rest of the build looks good...the SSD could be changed up to a Samsung M2 drive which would give it faster speeds..again would probably help as that drive will be functioning as a scratch drive.
@Nursemorph Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I did look for the 1TB Gen 4 Firecuda on both 1st/2nd storage options but I didn't find it. is it offer by PCspecialist?

Thanks

To the OP: If you let us know your maximum budget we can advise appropriate changes rather than guesing what might or might not be feasible
Hey thanks again, I very much appreciate your help, the more you guys advice something the more it gets complicated. I have been reading on the topic and try to understand as much as I can. Ideally, I would like to spend no more than £2300, as I say at the beginning of the post I already own a graphics card (Geforce GTX 1070)and I was thinking to use one of the hard drives of my current machine (WD 1T) for additional storage.

Do you think it is good idea to re-use these in the new pc? it's worth it?

Thanks

Thank you so much for your time putting this together! Do you think maybe I shouldn't take that graphics card at all? I'm a 3D designer, my work is mainly 3D modelling/visualisation and I am moving to Octane for the GPU speed and quality. I have read that the more GPU power the quicker the outcome. Maybe getting a new one? or not second one at all?

Hi,

Thanks a lot to @Nursemorph that help me to get to this configuration. I am thinking to spend around £2300 in this pc but still I have a couple of questions before I click proceed. In addition to the graphics card I've chosen I was thinking to use a second one that I already own (GTX 1070). Can anyone advice if this is a good idea or should or get a new one? I'm planing to use it with C4D/ Octane and physical render plus planing to learn UE.

Any advice is appreciated as none of this is really my strong point, I only have basic knowledge on certain aspects. Thank you!
