New PC for a new gamer..Advice needed!

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to PC gaming and would like some advice on the build below. Any concern/overkill? should I change something. I'm not really big on gaming but want something which can last few years. I'll be mostly playing games like Forza 4, MS flight simulator, ETS2 and sometimes counter strike.

I started with a budget of £1000 but ended up with £1104.

Appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Hey - my first custom PC for gaming and some light photo editing. I'm in no way familiar with all the components that I have added but with the help of youtube and other forums have come up with this spec.

I will be pairing it with a 1440 monitor preferably 27 inches which I will be buying so all recommendations are welcome.

I originally started with a budget of £1000 but ended up with £1300 as I want something which can last me few good years and then can be upgraded.

Can you please review the spec and let me know if this looks good, please. Any overkills :)?

For 1440p should be looking at 3060ti or 3070 gpu shadow of the tomb raider a game released in 2018 struggles to hit 60fps @ 1440p with a 2060 gpu so I imagine newer titles in 2021 would struggle at 1440p on a 2060 gpu if you want to upgrade in future may be a idea to up the power supply to a 750w or 850w rmx and silver warrenty for £5 extra is great value for what it offers is your heart set on 1440p ? because what you have specced would be more suited to 1080p in 2021 due to your gpu choice

Could I ask what the total max budget would be including the monitor budget you have ?
Hey thank you. My total budget was £1000 but I soon realised it’s not enough so I can go up to £1300 but can’t afford more than that. I looked at 3060ti but it’s really out of my budget. May be in couple of years I can upgrade but can’t do it now. I do agree getting a better power supply.
thanks

What 1080p monitor do you have at the moment?
In agreement with Jamie, with current prices £1300 isn't going to get you a 1440p gaming build, but it will give you a solid 1080p gaming build. The GPU will tend to be the first upgrade within most gaming PC lifespans anyway, so once you've saved up a little down the line you can definitely grab yourself a 1440p capable GPU and a monitor to match.

Hey, actually I just realized the monitor I have is 4K 2160p (model: LG 27UD68P) is that okay with the RTX 2060? sorry, I had this monitor for a while and never realized it's 4k as it is only used for my work.

You would need a 3070 to power that monitor which would be a whole different budget level.

So no option other than buying a 3060? Can I not even have 2060 for a year or so and then upgrade to 3060. I'm just trying to understand what would be the gaming experience if I go for 2060 now to game like Forza Horizon 4 and etc?

2060 or 3060 wouldn’t be powerful enough to drive the screen.

Thanks. So, this is the spec I need as a minimum? Would you change anything below?

This comes to £1674 and yes, a whole different budget level. :(

You won't be able to do a 3070 rig for that budget, the build you posted is close to £1700 and is already lacking in a few areas.
Can you tell me what it is lacking at? I may have to delay the purchase but let's see what I'm missing and the total cost.
Thanks

Plus the CPU is barebones, you really want the 5800x.

Alternatively, get a 1080p build and buy a 1080p gaming monitor.

But a 1440p would be worlds better than 1080p. 1080p is really really poor for both gaming and general use these days.

What case and motherboard should I get?
