New PC for Sports trading!

Hi I am looking to buy a new pc for sports trading, using up to four monitors. No gaming at all. Will be using some trading software, watching sport via the pc and monitors and having web pages open too. Any advice on errors I've made with the build and Id like also like some recommendation for monitors I could use please. Again no gaming at all!

Have read various other threads and the "building a desktop guide". Am looking to order this weekend, but dont want to order and then ask for advice!

Do I need a second drive? I didn't think i would, but again my knowledge is poor.

I dont think it is that demanding, but I am hoping to use this for five years. I also might have nine ladders open at the same time and using them all, as well as watching sport and using a web browser with multiple tabs. If you still think the 3900x is overkill I will listen. My budget yes is £2,000-2,500 for the system. Monitors I can spend more and have allowed for this.

Re monitors 22-24" and I dont need gaming quality, but one could be of a good quality to watch sport on?

A very unique use case. What trading software do you use?

I found betfair and its very minimal -

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 or AMD equivalent.
Memory: 1Gb.
Hard Disk: Bet Angel requires 50Mb of hard disk space.
Screen resolution: A minimum of 1024 x 768 with a monitor setting of 96dpi (This is the default setting).

I imagine you could aim for the 3300x or 3600 and be massively overpowered. For gpu you'll just want something that can run 4 1080 monitors like 1660s.

Some things to consider until the mods interject though.

I use Geeks Toy, but im sure bet angel is much the same. Split seconds can make a huge difference and at times I might execute multiple trades in the same second. I understand it might be overpowered.

So the 1660 super I have above will support four monitors? I didn't see the need for a great graphics card, due to not playing games at all.

I think I will go with 22" actually, i think I will need to get used to using more screen's and anything larger might not be as beneficial initially.

I'm happy with the spec, I know it's overpowered, I would really just like to know what I've chosen goes well together and if I need another drive or not? There are people doing the same as me using a 3990x threadripper with 128gb DDR4 the fastest you can get. I think the spec will make a difference and it will last me a long time, I appreciate any feedback though and that's why I posted. I genuinely want advice before I buy something.

From what I've read the 3900x works well with and up to 3200mhz ram, which is why I chose the one above.

I also have no idea on what monitor cables I need to connect the 3-4 monitors I buy.

i am looking to order today or tomorrow as mid June is a very busy time for me and that's when I'm hoping to receive my new machine.

You’d have to ring and ask pcs to be sure but I googled zotac 1660s and it has 3 display port and 1 hdmi. The palit one however only has 1 dvi, 1 DisplayPort and 1 hdmi. (These are the main 2 makes pcs use)

I would definitely call and ask regarding the GPU. According to the blurb the 1660 Super only supports 3, yet the 1660 supports 4. You want a GPU with the correct configuration of output. Other than that, I've made a few little tweaks.

I don't know how betting software operates but I don't think you would get much benefit from a second drive. If there is a cache/scratch option in the software then it may be worthwhile.

Thanks for your reply, Scott. I used your guide to create the machine in OP and found it very useful.

I appreciate expert advice and opinion which is why I asked, sorry if I seemed impatient. Understand my requirements are unusual, just wanted to know my build was compatible. I'll use your tweaks and then will call re GPU.

Many thanks! This is a big deal to me and I want it to be right. Aware I've probably gone over what I need, but I do feel it'll be worth it,
