New pc help

Recieved my shiny new PC today looks amazing however its stuck on a republic of gaming loading screen. Just a loading circle going round and round. Been that way for 5 minutes now. Is this normal ?

This is Windows trying to load (it shows the motherboard logo rather than a Windows logo these days).

If you gave it some more time, and it still didn't load, it's possible there's an issue with the Windows installation. I hear that Windows' 'out of the box experience' (where you get a new PC and it asks you to set your preferences) can fail so could be that.

You could call PCS tech support.

If it is a problem with the Windows installation the most likely fix will be a clean install of Windows, which is easy enough to do yourself

You could always call PCS tech support, get their opinion, and then proceed.

If nothing else, at least it logs the issue with them.

Thanks worked wonders. However I am going to have to ring them anyway. I originally wanted cooler master rgb fans but they said as it was a corsair case they would not work and that corsair was easier to control. Easier my ass. I can not get the rgb strips, ram nor top and back fans to sync to that damn program. Front ones are only ones being detected. This is why I wanted blooming cooler master least you can use asus aura.

Yeah I've found issues with the Corsair software as well - I use their iCue software for my keyboard and sometimes the macros I've set just plain do not work at all (until I reboot it)

There my specs. They changed cooler to corsair due to cas being corsair. If I had known corsair rgb was so rubbish I wouldn't have gotten a corsair case lol.
This PC is temporary and I will only have it for 6 months before giving it to my nephew as I will have about 10k by that point to spend on a better rig

The case comes with its own controller kit - corsair commander Pro or something.

I'm not familiar with these things so someone else may be able to advise better.

However, you'd expect the extra fans you bought to be plugged into the commander Pro that came with the case. If PCS supplied an additional controller with these fans perhaps therein lies the issue?

I'd be tempted to find the Commander PRO hub and see what's plugged into it.

Though not sure how that works if you're using them to replace CPU cooler fans.

Well I can tell you what's not plugged into it the second controller. Turned PC off plugged the main controller cable into cas controller started PC and boom 3 extra rgb fans now working. So many damn wires in this thing. Thank God for an easy to open case. Any idea how to get the rgb strip working with corsairs useless utility? I tried asus Aurora but only detects my ram for some reason, despite me having a strip and lights on the motherboard. Thanks

In fairness to Corsair, it sounds like PCS might not have wired it up properly if all you had to do was (re)plug a cable and suddenly it lives.

I've no idea about the strips. If they're suitable for plugging into the Commander PRO then I'd try that and see if I could control them via iCUE rather than Asus Aura Sync.

I'd probably contact PCS at this point, to log the various issues and ask about the LED strip.

Also don't update the BIOS without asking them as it has warranty implications.

Wait what updating a key part of the PC can avoid your warranty? Seems rather odd that. I mean yer if you update it and it bricks that's on you. But if it installs and works fine surely warranty shouldn't be affected. Have fixed all issues now except the damn led strip. Stuck on green and its driving me nuts. If it's not compatible with corsair why the fudge did they sell me it .

7.7Unlike with most computer companies, we allow you to open your case and install your own components without voiding your warranty on the following conditions:

  • If the actions of the person installing the components cause damage to the computer, your warranty will be void;
  • If you install components that are not purchased from us and they cause problems with your computer, your warranty will be void;
  • If you install components that are not purchased from us we will in no way support you in installing them or with any problems you have relating to the components you have installed.
  • We will support you in installing components purchased from us providing you have purchased them through the upgrade service available on your online account.

Any tampering, repair or modification by unauthorised personnel voids the warranty.

I imagine it's primarily there to cover PCS against someone bricking the mobo through being an idiot then expecting them to fix it.

But the benefit of checking is that if you update the BIOS with their blessing, and following the correct procedures, and it bricks the mobo, you're presumably covered. So in that case, bricking the mobo would not be on you, it'd be on them I suppose. :)

RE the LED strip, I can only advise phoning them. Phone, rather than email, as it will get a faster reply.

Fixed it or sort of. Cant have 2 rgb managers running at once so had to delete corsairs software. Re install asus Aurora choose what I wanted the strip to do. Save settings uninstall but leave settings there. Then reinstall corsair. Think my next PC will not contain corsair rgb except ram

Corsair do really like their own ecosystem... glad you got it sorted

Do report the issues to PCS though please if you didn't already; important for them to have feedback.
