I set myself a budget of £1000 to get a high spec gaming PC. I slightly went over because I really wanted a good quality HD monitor. I will be using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit which I have bought separately. I think its not bad for the price...it will certainly be an improvement on my Athlon dual core setup!!

What do you guys think?

I think you would have been better off with a i7 2600 or i5 2500 because I was told that games dont use 6 cores very well but its still a good rig

Ah right ok. Now I know why I haven't seen many AMD Phenom setups on here! I've always had AMD PC's and never once thought about going with Intel. As long as games use 4 cores well that will do me hehe! Hopefully over the next year games will be made to take advantage of 6 cores..
