New PC Specialist PC won't start after initial use

Hi all - I think I will need to wait for PCS technical support to come on line although just in case.
New PC arrived. Loaded with all software and checked fine.
Christmas day arrives, son uses PC for about 30 minutes and then it hangs. Now when we try to turn it on, the BluRay indicator lights up momentarily, the fans part spin (1 sec) and nothing - major bummer for the little guy.
Am I okay to open the case and try re-seating the main cards / connections or would this invalidate the warranty?
