Ok the black yellow red wires leading to that connector, are, molex connectors. Theyre no biggy, your new comp will have spare ones you can hook up to.

No, the big issue here is that both the CD and DVD drive are IDE, HOWEVER I can see your cable has TWO connectors on it, so, you are saved.

Here is a pic of the cable im talking about:

IDEquery.png

As for that Medion PC, let us take a quick loko at the things that stand out to me as being vague as soon as I clicked on the link:

* CPU: AMD Phenom™ II X6 1035T 6-Core processor
*

Operating System: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 32-bit (OEM Version)
* Clock Frequency: 2.6 Ghz
* Memory Type: DDR3 1333 MHz
* Memory size: 4 GB
* Hard disk capacity: 1 TB
*

ATI Radeon™ HD5670 PCI-Express Graphics card - with 1024 MB of DDR5 graphics memory
1 x DVI-I, 1 x HDMI (supports HDCP) and 1x D-Sub VGA
*

Dual Layer DVD-ReWriter - max.: 16x DVD+R9 (DL), 12x DVD-R9 (DL) 22x DVD+R, 22x DVD-R, 8x DVD+RW 6x DVD-RW, 48x CD-R, 32x CD-RW 5x DVD-RAM
*

8 Channel Audio
*

Integrated Memory Card Reader - reads from and writes to all standard memory cards
* IEEE1394 FireWire

So...Firstly, absolutely NO mention of the PSU used, probably a 450W ro 500W minimum, just enough to cover the components in the PC, probably absolutely no room for upgrades, e.g. taking out the 5670 and putting in a 5770/5850 would probably nto work as PSU wouldnt cope with extra power req.

Secondly... the RAM is 1333mhz, all well and good but, absolutely no indication of manufacturer (I looked inside my Sony Vaio laptop at the RAM, the 2 sticks were from DIFFERENT manufacturers, both id never ever heard of). So..RAM likely to be OEM stuff.

Thirdly, ok so it mentions 8 channel audio, so we know the motherboard must have 8 channel audio built-in but...where is the motherboard make / model? Nowhere, so, we dont no if it has crossfire/sli capabilities, extra features like number of usb internal headers, number of SATA connectors, whether theyre SATA I / II or III.

Warranty: V vague, 24months, 24 months of what?

I'd consider a 600W incase you want to upgrade that GPU.

One thing ive just realised is youre spending WAY too much on the CPU, a six core AMD is way way way too much :p

And i'd seriously seriously recommend getting a 64mb cached drive, 8mb is ok but, you wont get the responsiveness youd get from a 64mb cached drive, especially when copying lots of small files/ booting up/ loading startup programs etc.

If you're using the GT 430 Nvidia GPU, you will need to use the DVI to VGA converter that comes in the box:

800px-Adapter_DVI_to_VGA.jpg

(You only get one, the above pic just shows you both ends).

THIS is the Nvidia GT 430: Notice it has a VGA output (one of your VGA monitor cables can go in here) AND a DVI output, so, in teh DVI output, you plug in that DVI to VGA converter I posted a pic of up above, and then, plug your second VGA cable in from your 2nd monitor. Simples :)

But i want an "X6" ........
64mb cached drive <<< what are you talking about?

Also, i think i am going to go for:
Graphics Card
1GB ATI RADEON™ HD 5750 PCI EXPRESS - DirectX® 11

Power Supply & Case Cooling
600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan (£59)

Tops total price to £595.00 shudnt be too bad

btw: DVI to VGA converter , i can buy this at a later stage from local shop i guess .. i see around £5-10 .

I'm talking about a 640GB WD6400ARS 64mb cached drive, instead of a 500GB 8mb cached drive.

DVI to VGA adapter comes free with your order.

Not sure if it does when you order an ATI card though, although i'd seriously consider going for the GT 430 instead of that 5750.

A six core CPU is a bit pointless right now, hardly any programs use it, "Folding@Home" would, thats all I can really thinnk of right now. A quad core is more than enough atm but if you really want a six core, its your pc. I just think its completely unbalanced at this budget :p

Whichever card you go for, the principle is the same, the 5750 still has one VGA and one DVI, so you still need that DVI to VGA adapter, which I know is provided with Nvidia cards, no idea if its provided with ATI cards.

I also edited my previous post quite a bit, so recheck it if you havent already :)

"although i'd seriously consider going for the GT 430 instead of that 5750." <<< why????

Ah excellent, the HDD is great, motherboard too. This is taking shape now :D Nice choice on the warranty too.

Mainly because, Nvidia has CUDA cores, very useful for video conversion, video editing, photo editing using Photoshop etc, however, the ATI card there is way better for gaming etc etc, it has GDDR5 video memory instead of slower GDDR3, memory clock is 1.15ghz instead of 900mhz, and the card is crossfire ready, unlike the GT 430 that cannot be SLI'd although I understand you chose a non-xfire motherboard as you wernt interested in this feature.

So, it depends on what youre doing with your comp, if its designing, maybe the GT 430, gaming or anything else, ye just stick with that 5750, its a nice card :)

The 5750 is much better than the GT430, only reason to downgrade to it would be to save money but it would hurt your FPS in games.

Possibly, but dont do it as, the clock speed on this older RAM would be much lower (lets say 553mhz as an example) and then, ALL your RAM would downclock to 553mhz so not at all advised, apart from the fact it may not be 240pin RAM, SD RAM, or your motherboard only supports ddr2 ddr3 minimum and not ddr, lots of limitations could occur. Basically, dont :p

Nope we dont work for PCS.

Good choice at the end dude,but i still think if you more of a gamer you could make the cpu quad core and then use the saved money for a 5770. Also no need for a 600w unless you upgrade in the future which would mean you would need to change motherboard too. So downgrade cpu and psu and go for a 5770 or better.

Good luck

Sleinous

Doesnt need to change mobo if he sells the 5750 and gets say, a 5850. So PSU at 600W is still applicable. yes, I tried to talk Pringle out of the 6 core but, no luck :)

hey

look here: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desk...5750/Pages/ati-radeon-hd-5750-overview.aspx#2
ATI Radeon™ HD 5750 <<<<< thats the graphics card i ordered from this site with my pc........... right?

image shows:
ATrHD5750_242x193.gif

i see 2 vga ports !! correct ?

so therefore i would be able to connect both my monitors easily and use as extended desktop (by this i mean like its a larger screen ... umm not like same display on both monitor .. you know what i mean :p :p )

so i dont need to by a spliter or w,.e

p.s: my order still says processing .. :( thought it would be building by now...

Nope, this one has two DVI ports, HDMI and a DisplayPort, those are DVI and not VGA.

Also, thisis likely not the GPU you will get, the picture I posted is likely what you will get (powercolor) and has one DVI and one VGA output, so one monitor can connect easily, the other will require the little adapter.

That's an ATI generic card. ATi don't make graphics cards, just the chipsets. They use third parties such as PowerColor, which is the card that you're likely to receive inside your new computer. Here's a picture:
