Hello there, PCS noob here! Just wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on a new spec I'm planning on buying as my old PC died! Mostly going to be used used for gaming but don't have the funds to go much better than this. Thanks in advance

well go for samsung 1333mhz ram, you want see any difference with 1600mhz and you will save some money too
and if you are planing to sli in the future go for 1000w psu!

Ah thanks buddy wasn't sure on the RAM and yes I do plan to SLI in the future but wasn't sure how much power I would need! I had Vista but it came already installed (only owned one PC myself!) so unfortunately need to get a new OS

Yes if you plan on adding the second GTX 470, go for an HX 1000W like me *jealous of your i7 950*

Firstly, regarding your operating system, check if you can re-use it by visiting here: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/includes/microsoft/licensing.html

Secondly, great spec, pretty much spot on as it is in my opinion. You could reduce the PSU to save some cost (750W) - no need to upgrade it unless you plan on adding extra graphics cards, but more often that not this doesn't happen...

Thanks for all the feedback guys, much appreciated. Turns out we got my old one working again but I'm donating it to my father so I'm still getting the new OS. That link on licensing was useful though so thanks for that.
