What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

AMD is the way to go, Intel are awful compared.

I have a Samsung QLED - C24FG73FQU - 24inch - 1920 x 1080 - however being told to upgrade to 1440?

Everything I had read led to Intel over AMD?

AMD is vastly superior to Intel for anything other than 1080p 240Hz.

1080p is really a dead resolution, it's 20 years old, and modern GPU's are overpowered for it. Plus it's just a really poor experience in modern day gaming.

The 2060 Super you've configured is an entry level 1440p card.

Ok so what would you recommend then?

I have seen 2560x1440 monitors that I could get in order to support the better resolutions. I would keep the Samsung as a second screen.

I am very new to all of this, trying to move away from my gaming laptop!

What’s your max budget for the monitor as that will determine what pc to get?

Just posted a AMD Processor with the AMD graphics card, not sure if Geforce is better?

Monitor wise I'd like to keep to as cheap as possible but if it is better off I am willing to spend

I would have but if you think I should change I would have a look
Ok, what I'm thinking is we could take the 2k you were initially going to spend on the PC alone, and do a 1440p 144Hz PC and then find a good 1440p 144hz monitor to go along with it within that budget?

That leaves you just over £350 for a monitor, a good 1440p 144Hz with Freesync would fit the bill, there's a good thread here with some suggestions:

MSI are worth looking at, or this Dell is a sure favorite:

Prices do seem to be on the rise at the moment, this monitor was usually at around £330 not long ago, but now it's hard to find it under £400.
