New Video-Editing PC

Hi everyone,

My dad is looking to get a new PC. He has shown an interest in getting a PC for general home use but also including some simple video and photo editing. As I'm not really clued up about what makes a good video editing PC I thought I would ask here for some guidance.

He is looking to spend up to around £600 on his system.

- No need for a second hard drive to store videos / photos on as he has a 2tb networked drive.
- Already has all the peripherals so it's just the tower that is required.

Any advice or proposed specs would be greatly appreciated.

Both very good (similar) specs, you just have to make the choice whether you want AMD or Intel

I'd be tempted to lean towards Intel's new sandy bridge setup (taking nothing away from AMD), just my personal preference.

Hi again guys, been waiting for the sandy bridge issue to be resolved. I know that this setup won't be affected, but my dad is happy to wait to know that the issue is resolved.
