First I must say that this is the fastest computer I have ever used! The need for speed was the main reason getting a new laptop and boy this is fast. I do a lot of video conversion and I have been using a 5 year old, i3-2 series laptop which was getting really slow. The difference is staggering - to give an example - the old laptop would take one and a half minutes to convert 1% of a video file to Blu-ray, the Vyper did it in 4.5 seconds!!!
I am a little disappointed initially with the display as I expected almost Retina quality, and I watch an OLED TV, but since I have been using the laptop, I am gradually appreciating the colour accuracy and depth, but still not happy with the white accuracy. I have tried all options, even calling in and speaking to tech support.
The other surprise was that PC Specialist don't have a logo on the case, not needing any promotion???
So overall, very pleased with the speed, not so with the display, but not enough to sent it back.

The Vyper is a budget gaming laptop, the cheapest PCS offer, and has a 45% NTSC screen. A higher end laptop screen, probably still not as nice as top-drawer screens, would be 72% NTSC - so even by a fairly broad measurement PCS make it clear it's got a lower end screen.

To get hardware that powerful into a chassis that handles the temps okay and at this price point, there are absolutely going to be compromises. The display is one, video outputs are another, and the speakers are apparently not very good even for laptop speakers.

The screen is 'fine' for what most people are going to buy it for (gaming https://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/pc_specialist_vyper_15_review,11.html ) but yes, it's unfortunately not surprising that it's gonna lose out versus a mac or OLED TV on that front. Though good to hear it's otherwise behaving itself.

And good to make others who might buy it with the same uses as you aware that there are these compromises. :)

Some of their desktop cases seem to have a PC Specialist badge, but the laptops tend to be unmarked and as discreet as the chassis design allows. Even the desktop ones aren't terribly ostentatious (e.g. tucked in under the Fractal logo here)
