No HDMI output

I received my new pc from PC Specialist yesterday. I ordered it without a GPU. I inteneded to use the intergrated graphics on my Maximus Hero.
I tried a HDMI to DVI lead into my monitor - there was no display signal. My monitor was working fine yersterday when I shut down my old computer.
I've tried the HDMI lead I use for my Playstation, from the PC to my TV. No HDMI signal.
The PC beeps just once on startup so the self test thinks all is OK.
Help!

The blanking plate on the back where a GPU's outputs would be was not in place (it was in the welcome box). Is it possible the PC has been set to use a GPU and therefore would not output on HDMI? If this is the case when I get the GPU I have ordered will I then have a display signal?

All's well that ends well.
I got the GTX 760 Superclocked ATX (why don't PCS offer this?) I ordered and display is now happening as happily as it should.
I did originally plan to use the integrated graphics for about 3 months before I got a GPU, but I changed my mind while my PC was in process and it's as well I did.
I do think it's a bit remiss of PC Specialist to either forget to set the PC to output through HDMI, or to not warn me that the HDMI would not be working. They may have presumed I already had a card or was imminently getting one, but they shouldn't have presumed that. If I 'd really not had the money for GPU for a while I'd have been stuck.

Anyhow I'm very happy with this PC so far.

It is a little odd that it didn't just immediately switch to onboard graphics (from what I understand, it should). But I'm also glad the graphics card is working fine!
