Ok so im getting a vraptor 600gb with my pc and also a 1tb normal hdd

The os will be on the vraptor

I have a 60gb ocz vortex ssd, its new and in box

I want to first install new firmware on ssd which reformats drive,
so im assuming I connect it to my pc and install as such.

((Also how will I know on the mobo which is the6bgs ports and the 3gbs?
as I intend to let the ssd ad vraptor have the 6gbs))

Then I want to install the os on the ssd, and reformat the vraptor,
then of course install drivers etc.

So can anyone help? lol

Ok, basically when you get the new PC, it should have either the OS you purchased or a test OS on the system. If you connect the SSD (check my other reply for the marked 6GB/s ports question), you can do as you wish as long as you still have the VRaptor connected as the first drive.

Once you've got the SSD sorted, either change the Hard Drive priority in the BIOS so that the 60GB SSD is the primary drive, or swap the cable so it is connected to SATA 1. Then you can install Windows onto this, all the drivers are provided n CD or DVd, these can be loaded very easily, and you can load the latest graphics drivers from the NVIDIA or ATI websites (you want to do this if gaming as this will give the best performance).

Then you should be good to go. The PC Specialist welcome book, the support team or the forum members can help you out if you get stuck when doing this.

yea what Jak said, your BIOS will detect what HD's you have so you can change your boot priorities. also when in the windows set up screen (installing new OS) you can format the Vraptor drive :)

Enjoy the SSD and Vraptor are pretty nice drives!!

I would unplug all other drives except for the SSD when you are installing windows, then once installed plug them all back in and do as you please with them :)
