Old HDD in new PC - checkdisk failing on startup

Hey guys, I've just plugged in a hdd from my old computer, everything seems to work fine but on startup I get this -

EDIT: I should point out that I did format the drive and it does load up windows from my SSD after the message disappears.

Is there something that I need to do in Windows to fix this?

Does the drive show up in windows? if it does use windows disk repair utility on the drive. if not go to start>computer management>storage>disk management and see if it shows up there. If not I would check to see if the BIOS can detect the drive. If it can't use a different SATA cable and port on the mother board. If the BIOS still cant see the drive after this it is likely that the drive is dead

It sounds like the "dirty bit" is set on that drive and not being reset, so chkdsk runs every time. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb490641.aspx for help fixing this. You might also Google dirty bit yourself.
