Ah ok sorry I’m not computer wizard so I just presumed the i9 was the best one to get...

My order is already in dispatch so kind of late to change it lol. Will I not be able to play games on ultra settings with good FPS then ? Or are you trying to explain that it’s just overkill for the price i payed?

thank you for responding btw

It's that you've paid about £2000 for parts that will never be used on that configuration, totally wasted money.

A cheaper "gaming" specced PC would perform better.

It's a 4k PC with a 1080p monitor.

I would seriously return it, just call PCS and explain that you want to cancel. It's a really poor build.

so basically I have bought a pc which won’t use its maximum potential ? I’m not bothered about the money if I’m honest. After looking up reviews the performance stats show it’s clearly better than the 3600 but obviously for value for money your right...it doesn’t make much of a difference for the price difference.

apart from the CPU is everything else ok ?

The CPU cost me around £650 btw

What reviews and performance stats are you relating to, because they're incorrect. Don't use things like cpubenchmark or userbenchmark, they don't give accurate results in any way at all, they're based on bogus calculations that have no relevance whatsoever to real world performance.

The CPU is part of the platform of X299 which is totally pointless for gaming. The motherboard you've chosen again, most of it will never be used, it's not designed for what you've bought it for.

You've selected slow RAM which will further reduce performance.

The GPU is completely pointless for 1080p gaming, will offer no improvement over a GTX 1660 Super.

You've got a slow and expensive M2 drive

The cooler isn't adequate for the CPU anyway and you'll likely see thermal throttling under load and reduced lifespan of the build generally.

1080p monitor, which is a 20 year old resolution, most people are at 1440p as a minimum with high end being 4k. This is going reduce your experience to almost the same as a console you could buy for £450.

No warranty selected?

Even forgetting exorbitant costs for no gain, I promise you, this won't perform as well as a well designed gaming PC.

You could configure a build for about £900 geared towards 1080p which you have and it would perform better. PC components suit a particular use case, it's not the case that the most expensive is best, they all have thier particular places and each components needs to match it's partnered specs to give optimum performance.

pc arrived earlier this week...

CPU 15% max usage with 2 games running, throttling with high usage? don't think it will even get to high usage.

constant 240fps on apex legends on ultra everything..... does exactly what i need it to do.

"Slow RAM" but is literally only using just under 8GB of 16GB.

PC literally handles everything with ease, i had three games running at the same time earlier and it does even blink an eyelid.

I asked people on reddit after your post worried me and they reassured me that i could literally play real life on it, and they was correct.

bad design, if you say so.
