I'm still hoping this is a driver problem but it looks unlikely.
My new laptop arrived yesterday and everything seemed perfect, until I wanted to watch something last night. I noticed that only the left hand speaker was working so I checked the audio balance and made sure that all of the drivers were installed and I even reinstalled my audio drivers from disk. Still nothing.
Then I noticed the USB on the right hand side of my laptop also had no connection and that the headphones weren't working either, also on the right hand side.
I'm assuming this is a loose connection of some sort and will have to go back?
Should probably say wiring rather than connections in the title.
