Optimus IX vs Defiance V (17.3" editions)

Hi there,

Could someone, please, point me to some user reviews of the 17.3" editions of the Optimus IX and Defiance V that address the battery life under normal usage (web browsing, lower brightness)? I'd also appreciate a comparison of the cooling & running temperatures of these two laptops.

I don't think anyone will have done a side-by-side. PCS send some models out to magazines for review but have not done any 17.3" Defiance or Optimus. https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/reviews/

My guess is because those brand names are quite well established and they have been focusing on getting the name recognition of their newer Recoil and Fusion systems up. But that's just my guess.

And not many people will have bought 1 of each.

You could look up the Clevo chassis model here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/clevo-laptops/40/
and see if a site like Notebookcheck.net has done reviews of those chassis with comparable components to assess relative temps, battery life, etc

The Defiance screen is gsync, which is a significant asset for gaming as I'm sure you know. However I assume battery life would be reduced as a result, though how much by I can't tell you, and I can't tell if they use the same battery anyway.
