I recieved this laptop around last Thursday. It's a very good laptop, its quick, the graphics are amazing and fps on games run smoothly
However I do have a problem with my which I am currently getting help from the excellent customer service, mine has a 1 in a million problem of the CPU going above 90C. This problem is getting resolved, so there should be nothing to worry about just a quick send it back so they can repair it/ see what the problem is. Battery life is decent around 3 hours, but that's good for a gaming laptop. Thank you PC specialist, let's hope we can fix that fan problem though. 😏

Thanks for posting up comments and pics :) Let us all know how the RMA goes and how the temps behave going forward

I've just received my Optimus IX and it's running at 91C installing Windows updates, and I specced the Coolermaster paste. Did returning it actually improve things? I'm not impressed to be honest, I bought a chunkier laptop to avoid this.

If you're not completely happy then return it for a refund.

I've been using high-spec laptops for over a decade from various manufacturers (Acer, dell, Asus, pcspecialist) and always get around those temps or more when a process is running. Your CPU will run hot until it gets the job done.

My current Defiance laptop bought in 2015 has been running hot with no hardware failure as of yet. However my Asus died after 3 years. Such is the nature of these machines.

I would agree with @darbyjack , those temps are expected on the last few gens of intel. They all run very hot, 90c on a laptop is about right.
