Optimus /w intel 520 120gb ssd - losing drive

Hello all,

I have an Optimus laptop which I bought last year with a Intel 520 120gb ssd.

I keep having problems with the laptop blue screening and rebooting, but upon reboot the ssd disappears from the bios.

I have to physically turn the laptop off and back on again for the ssd to be picked up.

It has happened probably 4 times before Christmas but happened twice last night!.

I installed the Intel SSD Toolbox, checked the firmware and ran the diagnostics and it came out fine but when I ran the optimize part of it the laptop froze and rebooted within 5min of it finishing.

I have had a quick look on Google and it seems to be something that other people are having aswell.

I'm not sure what to do now as the first year warranty is due soon.

Cheers

Give PCS a call. If its a known issue then they van sort it out. Intel drives are normally very good but obviously faults happen.

Best bet is to contact PCS before your warranty expires.

I have the same drive in my Optimus IV, and it gives me no problems at all. As mantadog says, give PCS a call, it sounds like the drive may be failing.
