Optimus XI or Proteus VIII

Hello!

I am planning to get a laptop soon and I am currently looking at two options - Optimus XI and Proteus VIII.

For both I would get the similar configuration with i7-10750h/i7-10875h (which is not that big of a difference), RTX 2060, 16GB. Proteus ends up about 100 quid more.

What are the main differences between those two models and which one would be a better pick?

The main things would be the following:

1) Thermal performance. That one is pretty important so I would prefer the one with a better thermal performance to avoid unnecessary throttling, degradation or anything. Even though I will definitely undervolt the CPUs, I'd rather have an option with better thermals chassis.

2) The screen - how much better is the screen on Proteus?

Any advice on that, and any overall suggestions of which one is a better choice are very much appreciated.

Thanks!

I personally would go for the proteus because it seems you get more value for money if the difference is around 100 bucks: a better monitor is something you'll be glad to have (you watch it almost everyday) and 8 cores in the cpu instead of 6 should make the laptop more future proof.
Both are things you won't be able to upgrade later, and well worth the price.

Regarding thermals, I believe there won't be much difference: gaming laptops are always hot, even the top gamma from well known famous brands.

Just my 2 cents :)

Be careful with Samsung NVMe drives. They get very hot. I've changed to different brand and got around 20 degrees Celsius lower. PCS could offer better range of NVMe drives.

I have never had any issues with temperatures with Samsung NVMe drives. Have been using those on 2 of my laptops.

it looks great, will you post your review here after?
