Order page information

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right section to put this in but it's the closest section I could find to help.

I've recently placed an order and I'm looking at the tables on the order page with the information displayed just so I can try to figure out roughly how long it will take for my new pc to arrive. On the orders page below the status of my order is a table stating '% of orders dispatched within...' Is this table cumulative as it goes along because my brain has kind of melted looking at it? I ordered my desktop on Sunday so I'm not expecting a miracle delivery overnight I'm just trying to understand the metrics so I can try to make an estimated eta myself.

From what I can tell most deliveries are dispatched within 7-14 day, can someone tell me if I'm right or barking up the wrong tree?

I understand times are hard at the moment and PCS staff are working as hard as they can to clear orders as quick as possible whilst not letting build standards slip this not me having a go just trying to understand things better to ease my own anxiety, going from having a nice working pc that I game and work on to needing to use a laptop that can hardly play solitaire has me a little loopy at the moment and I cope by trying to get order and structure around me.

So the way I read that table is that 74.55% of Desktop PCs that PCS ship are dispatched within 14 days (I think its working days rather than 'actual days' but I could be wrong there).

Thanks, when I originally looked at it my brain tried to add each column on the row together and was so confused. When I get stressed logic tends to go out the window.

I know the feeling! I would have to add that I'd take those figures with a pinch of salt at the moment, depending on what components there are in your order. Some items are in very short supply and hard to get hold of...

Yeah, luckily I didn't go for any high end parts so fingers crossed they're already in stock, I didn't get any warning messages when I placed the order.

I think the important thing to note is that this is based on "orders that were dispatched in the last 5 days" - as we have been seeing stock coming in for some of the 30 series GPUs and also the laptop situation figures is probably relating to a lot of the new 30.. series laptops that have recently been dispatched, those orders were placed some time ago and therefore making these figures look a lot worse than they would if items had been in stock and PCs ready to go.

Yeah, If I had the funds I would have loved to get a 30 series but I had to go with a 1030 as it was the only card that fit in my budget, but that being said my grandad has loads of his unopened spare parts that he buys as incase any of his bits go on him and he's going to give me so I'm getting a few upgrades straight off the bat from him.

The 1030 isn’t a gaming card, it’s just basic output designed for systems that don’t have on board graphics.

I know that's why one of the parts I'm getting from dear old grandad is a Zotec GTX 1070 amp extreme

I'm curious, why did you select a1030 if that's the case? You could order without a GPU altogether if you're installing your own

Honestly I was in a panic and wasn't thinking clearly that and I only found about about the second card after I ordered. The original play was to make do with the 1030 until I could get a new card as I didn't know if I could trust my old gtx 970 after the motherboard in my old pc died the night before and was trying to get stuff sorted to work from home at the same time.

Ah, I see. Well you could amend your current order and remove the GPU, the money will go back on your PC Specialist account in the form of a credit note. So you could use the saving to bolster other bits of the system if you wanted. Seventy-odd quid could make a big difference!
