Parental Controls

Since my sister has found that one of my nephews have been looking at stuff there should not be looking at on the net, at any age.

I know need to find a safe and free Parental Controls software to use for my sister to use on there home network.

I've been looking on google, but I feel something like this should come from a recommend software rather than trial and error.

never used it but the original is netnanny or if the youth is not too tech savvy you could redirect the internet through opendns by setting a static dns.

Make an account for free with them and you can filter pages by catagory.

Yup, agree with this. I have been using an OpenDNS free account for a long time, and it works great. You can add your own black/whitelists as well if the preset selections of filtering are not quite what you want. All our family net connections are via OpenDNS and we have never had any issues. The DNS can be set on the router as well as on the local PC's. If none of the other users are admins, then they cannot be changed. Ideal for young 'uns ...... :)
