PC arrived with zero packaging, just in box, is this standard?

Unsurprisingly, the PC doesn't work, we think the motherboard might have been damaged during transit but it could have been literally any other part, there was no styrofoam, no bubblewrap, nothing, just as is in a box.

Like thankfully there is a warranty but after a long wait and 3 delays and spending so much money, it's not ideal!

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Is this a PCSpecialist machine?

I'm in contact over the phone trying to sort it and get advice, I was just wondering if anyone else had ever received their pc with no packaging except cardboard box and if this is standard procedure for PC Specialist machines

even if we manage to get it to boot, there's no telling what minor damages may have happened internally if the box was being dropped/shoved around.

I would have thought a little bit of internal packaging would go a long way here.

Found the issue, a ram stick was unseated!

still concerned about the sheet lack of packaging this company provides though.

This isn't standard practice from PCS, and I'm quite shocked it's left without any packaging. Normally, PC's would be in a large cardboard box with thick foam inserts over the top and bottom of the PC to keep it in place in the box then a expanding foam bag would be placed inside the PC if there are any large graphics cards or large coolers in place. I apologise this has happened to you and I'm sure PCS will do whatever is needed to sort it.

I thought so because my buddy got their PC today and said it was packaged to high heavens! His was more expensive so maybe that's why.
This whole build was 1.2k so definitely not cheap but maybe not valuable enough for them to package?

Anyway I'm just glad the graphics card doesn't seem to be damaged, still, very grateful for the warranty right now!

I'd imagine the packaging is based on the parts inside rather than the value of the PC. Would you be able to provide us with the some pictures of how it arrived?

Mine came as described, but without the internal expandy foam (which I was expecting) - GPU is the MSI Suprim X 3080.

I think, packaging depends on the PC case size. Sizes are different, and they possibly didn't have an exact packaging in stock at the time, so decided to deliver sooner anyways, but compromised a packing. This is just my speculation and thoughts, as this is what would I do if I run business. Ram unseated could or could not be a coincidence. Ram tends to move during transportation and is one of the things to be checked when a PC arrives.

Hopefully, a PC will work fine, send us the pictures in a show off thread 🙂

I would definitely log this with PCS, just in case anything goes wrong, then at least they're aware of what state it was packaged in.

That's certainly not normal and not acceptable either.
