Hello,

I have a friend which wants a gaming pc. He said he has a max budget of £2500.

Which pc would you recommend? I think a build that will last him will be awesome! Btw, he plays FPS games like warzone so audio will be key i guess.

Thanks

If you dont need a monitor, whats the monitor you are going to use?
Makes a big difference to spec requirements.

He has a Dell monitor which isnt all that. Not sure of spec or anything. If possible could you recommend a good monitor. His budget changed to 2k now

So 2K including a monitor? Or monitor on top?
Do you know the resolution and refresh of the dell monitor?

Id get your friend to have a sit down, and go through a proper plan.
If using the current monitor, what resolution and refresh rate is it.
If buying a monitor, what are they aiming for, 1440p would tend to be the standard for new builds, 1080p is kinda irrelevant these days unless professional competitive gaming, there is also the idea to consider that the dell monitor might be a useful side monitor if streaming (if its 1080p would actually be a good use for it).

Complete list of items needed, mouse, mousemat, keyboard, speakers, surge protector, headset.... and an exact budget.
Theres a MASSIVE difference in spec between a £2.5K and £2K machine, even more so if a monitor needs to come out of that and buying decent peripherals would also take a big chunk out of the budget too.

As an example, my mouse, keyboard and headset were about £450 in total... you can do it on a budget and buy cheap ones but i'd suggest buying those separately it can be a very personal thing.

Once they know what resolution/refresh they are wanting to use, and exactly how much can go into the machine itself, then people can have a go at specing a system.

You really need your friend to create a thread please as we need specific details from him.

These go betweens never work.
This is my mate. Can you see his message?

Have you sorted a complete list of items needed, mouse, mousemat, keyboard, speakers, surge protector, headset, monitor etc.... and an exact budget. What resolution you are looking at as well.

Would strongly advise getting most of your peripherals separately. you'll get a much wider range elsewhere so you need to figure out how much of your budget you can actually spend on the system, how much is for the monitor, and how much you want to spend on the accessories. If you are going to go for cheap and cheerful accessories to get you started they'll probably still cost £150 to £200, youll need to have a dig around and see what sort of stuff you want.

If you are getting it all in one go (buying on finance for example) so it has to come from here, then let us know, otherwise chop your budget into sections and give yourself rough spends, Ie £1500 for system, £200 for monitor, £200 for mouse/keyboard/headset and £100 reserve/flex room

A 1440p monitor without mouse and keyboard, mousemat and headset and the budget to be exactly 2k is what i need, I will be getting rest separately but I’ll most likely think about getting the pc and monitor together

So 2K is just the computer and monitor, you'll sort accessories yourself/seperate budget...ok

These specs could very benefit from some tuning by the proper regulars/mods, but this might be a rough starting point.
I think there are better monitor options, so would be worth looking elsewhere its kinda limited for choice. But depends on how you're funding it you might not have that option.

So this might be a rough starting point going AMD

Out of the 2 above the Intel is definitely the better option. I wouldn't put streaming & recording onto the 5600X, the 5800X would be more suitable....... which would require additional cooling etc.

I would probably opt for the TUF monitor from Amazon right now.

Worthwhile getting the H115 for the minor price difference too:

I wanted to buy by personal finance but without paying interest, is there any way I could do that?
Yeah if you buy with finance and pay the entire sum within the first 12 months then you wont be charged interest. At least that was the terms when I was buying my machine they may have changed
