PC for Zwift

Hi all,

Long time no speak.

I'm looking for a gaming pc that will be able to run a game called Zwift smoothly.

Key requirements are that it's under £1000, and able to run perfectly on a 4k UHD 120hz TV

I don't need any wifi card as i'll be using homeplugs.

Please could somebody help? I'm well out of touch with PC's these days.

The specs of the game can be found here - Ideally extreme specs of course :)

Thanks!

Given the system requirements my nan's piano could probably run it at 1080p

The Zwift site also has recommended hardware for 4k:

BUILD B: ZWIFT-READY PC (4K)
CPU: Intel i3 8100
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB)
RAM: 8GB DDR4

This is all you need for the best graphics Zwift has to offer on a luxurious 4k television.

I don't think you need a new PC, just a new graphics card for your system and maybe treat yourself to an SSD like a 250gb Samsung 860 Evo as a general system upgrade. Your overclocked i5 will not be far off the i3 8100 for performance.

If you're looking to push as high FPS as possible, you may want to get a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080, since they're down in price at the moment (I think there are 1070s knocking around for £350 or so and some 1080s sub-£450).

I'd suggest getting a new GPU for your current system, and only buying a new system in the extremely unlikely event Zwift isn't happy with your existing i5.

Aha, I see.

Something like this + your own GTX 1070 as PCS's price for it is relatively high and will take you over budget.

And if you were going to go over budget, you should get your own GTX 1070 and add an M.2 SX600 SSD in the configurator :)

I don't play Zwift, nor do I have a 4k 120hz TV, but to the best of my google-fu and with a limited budget this seems like a sensible option.
