PC restarting at random & switching on at random

For a while now (I haven't had time to do anything about it, but I would say a few months) my PC has been randomly booting up/powering on at random times of the day, sometimes in the middle of the night.

It also randomly (and suddenly) restarts whilst doing nothing in particular, such as browsing the web.

I have no idea why...

Please fire your suggestions at me. I can't have this happening, I was doing some video editing for a client one time and it just randomly shutdown right in the middle of it - I can't have that happening on professional projects...

I don't suppose you've got it plugged in via a powerline adapter (homeplug?)??

My PC was doing that for a while unless I switched it off at the plug, but once I plugged it directly into the wall the problem stopped.

Thanks for the suggestion, but nope, I'm using the on board WiFi!

I've now changed the ErP mode in bios from DISABLED to ENABLED so hopefully that will help...!

I aim to please! Must be something to do with that particular motherboard for some weird reason! It hasn't shutdown or restarted in the middle of the night since!
