So, considering the cost, it would basically make no sense at all to buy 2080 Ti any longer (provided 3070 is available) but somehow people still recommend it here and there...

Absolutely not, they were very expensive and will I doubt ever be good value compared to 3000 series, even if they were heavily discounted.

If anyone is recommending it to you, they very simply have no idea what they're talking about.

Have a look at the GPU Hierachy. Most 2080 users tried to offload their 2080s when the 30 series was announced. the second hand market was flooded.

Does anyone know how to control the RGB in this system ? case fan, cpu fan and a light strip all flashing in sync but I just want a static colour.

I'm definitely going to go for 3070, that's for sure. Regarding the rest, could you please elaborate a little bit?
Which components are you talking about? What's wrong with i7-10700?
Not arguing anything, just trying to pick your brain before I spend £1500 which is quite a lot of money to me...

Intel are really poor by todays standards, plus they have a plethora of security issues which Intel refuse to address. They have to be patched at a windows level which constantly degrades performance further.

The other components like mobo, PSU, case etc are also very budget oriented and not something we would ever recommend. They will limit any upgradeability whatsoever which vastly reduces the life of the system.

It's not a good deal, you can get much better for the same price.

To be honest, I know literally nothing about motherboards and PSU's so I will just take your word for it before I do more research.

You wouldn't then recommend any Intel CPU just because it's Intel? I mean, I heard they're running behind nowadays but is it so bad I should just start shopping with Ryzen search filters on only? Intel still seem to be doing good in rankings. Are there any other performance issues?

I'm guessing you're looking at userbenchmark or something, it's just plain lies, it's all explained in the link above.

Hey, Nursemouse recommended this spec to me.

Yes its about £300 more expensive than the currys version but for somoen like me who likes to upgrade and modify for several years its far better. THe ryzen 5 and better mother board will save me cash in long run. only thing i tweaked was inrease the SSD.

All right then, AMD does look like a better option after all. Thanks for all the links.

Another few questions if you don't mind:

1. I'm also buying SteelSeries Arctis 3 headphones with virtual 7.1 and was thinking about 7.1 speakers too, I imagine it won't do much paired with 5.1 sound card?

2. I bought Windows 8.1 years ago (not OEM, I still have box and everything), installed it on my laptop and then upgraded it to Win10 for free. Do I have to purchase a new Windows licence now or I can just transfer it? And if I can, I imagine it would deactivate Windows on my old laptop at the same time?

3. I was thinking about adding another 16GB RAM but... would I even notice a difference?

1. The audio via Steelseries headphones is excellent.....I have a set of the Arctis 7s and I am astounded every day by how good the audio is, both in quality and also in the bass....and I haven't even changed it from the default settings it first appeared with. Can't speak to speakers as I run my audio through a Technics separates system. I would say that the onboard 5.1 as standard is a bit of a red herring as a lot of the motherboards, especially the 550s, have 7.1 or even 8.1 (click on the question mark next to the motherboards and it will tell you what each motherboard has).

2. Don't see any reason why you can't transfer the licence. It won't deactivate it automatically AFAIK...I think you need to deactivate it yourself via your MS account.

3. Depends on your uses...for most gaming, you will see no difference. If you are editing videos or such like, it may well help
Gotcha. No video editing, it's mainly for gaming purposes. But thanks again, I believe I pretty much know now what I want to buy.

I ordered this PC deal from currys on 22nd Nov when was £1299.99 and had it delivered on 24th Nov so cant complain about delivery time and have now wrapped up ready for son age 11 for xmas. I checked today and seen its gone up to 1499.99 already so seems like I got in on time.

My question to people because I have an average PC build understanding is on deal says 16 GB DDR4 (2400 MHz) which im guessing is CORSAIR VENGEANCE because seems to be the brand PCS use. But I will probably look to take this upto 32GB by adding 16GB DDR4 3200MHz. From my reading an upgrade like this the MHz will still run at a base line of the lower 2400 MHz but at least if upgraded this way im thinking can update the others ones at 2400MHz to 3200MHz at a later date. Whats peoples thoughts on doing it this way? Also I kind of didnt want to open the box because xmas priz and now wrapped but can anybody advise how many slots this PC would have for RAM

Does he need 32GB of RAM for the system? If he's just gaming, it's not really necessary. Flight simulators might get some use out of it, but that's pretty much the only genre.

And it's generally not advisable to mix and match RAM sticks. It can often lead to system instability and worse performance than you originally had.

Not sure what the Tuf X570 comes with but the Strix X570 comes with 7.1 stereo

something to think about as it has different sound setup to the TUF.
