PC Upgrade

Good evening,

After downloading COD Warzone, I'm finding my Graphics card is struggling to run the game and keeps crashing. Just looking for suggestions of what new card to put in my machine? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Here is my setup:
- Intel i7 - 2600k @ 3.40 GHz
- 8192MB RAM
- Nvidea Geforce GTX 680 - Total memory 6091mb (vRAM 2007mb)
- Corsair H55 CPU cooler
- Corsair TX650 power supply
-Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250gb
-Samsung HD753LJ

I was looking at spending around £400 for a new graphics card and around £100 for some new RAM. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks again.

What monitor is it you have?

I don't think £400 is warranted on a GPU, given the 680 currently residing, but you should definitely have some more life in that system.

Do you have upgrade options through your order page? RTX 2060 Super has you covered for that monitor, regardless of games.... but as you have been getting by with the 680 you may want to opt for a GTX1660 Super and save some cash. 16GB of RAM would be upgraded also. PCS may be able to fit the 2060 super for you but I don't think they will have DDR3 RAM available.

Something like this for the RAM would be good:

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the help mate. The only option I have through the upgrade page is:

2GB AMD RADEON™ R7 240 - DVI,HDMI,VGA - DX® 11

Okay I’ll look in to a GTX1660 Super. Sorry I’m not up to date with all these new cards! Which one would you recommend? The RAM looks good to me. Would my motherboard not facilitate DDR4? Thanks again!

The 1660 Super is a 1080p card for modern day standards. The 2060 Super is a 1440p card.

My reasoning with the 1660 Super is that it's going to be way more powerful than the 680 that you currently have. If you want a significant jump then the 2060 would be a good choice, but it's quite expensive. Considering there are new cards out at the end of the year I would probably go with the modest jump to the 1660 Super and consider a more substantial upgrade next year, if you feel it's warranted, using the money saved. You can always sell on the GTX680 and the GTX1660 Super.

Excellent, I’ll look in to the GTX1660. Thanks for the information Scott, you’ve been very helpful. It’s appreciated.
