What your opinion ruining it of a Raspberry pi 4, can it stream 4k or is it too under powered. like the idea of it having low power consumption.

Not a chance, you'd need a minimum of a modern i7, probably an i9, plus a GPU

Whats the minimum for streaming HD? Was curious of 4k but know you need a better storage solution.

For 1080p I'd say minimum of i5 9600 or Ryzen 3600x

If you just wanted to stream in the home, so long as your endpoint was something like an AppleTV, NVidia Shield or Amazon Fire Cube, that would be able to do the encoding rather than the server having to.

Also, if you had a 1080p source file, then there wouldn't need to be any encoding done (if it were in the home), and if you're streaming over the internet, then you're only limited by your upload speed of your ISP.

Will invite @Scott to this as he has a different kind of setup to me I think, so may have a different perspective

Max I got is a i7-3770 for now until I get a new PC this week from Pc specialist. Just waiting to hear a reply on my post.
