Hi all! Ok I have a Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard and I'm currently having an issue with adding extra memory. I currently have an AMD AE34G1339U2-U 4GB DS PC3-10700 23EY4587MB3H11503M 9-9-9-24 1.5V DDR3 RAM which came with the motherboard. I have just got another stick of 4GB RAM which according to the Asus manual for the motherboard is supported. Samsung Planet first 4GB M378B5273CH0 2Rx8 PC3 10600U-09-10-BO DDR3 1.5V RAM.
So I did try both together and nothing, just black screen, so I thought there might be a issue between the 2 RAMs so I tried the Samsung RAM on its own, nothing, just black screen. I tired it in the other slots just to get the same black screen. I've reset the motherboard and bios, didn't help so I'm at the end of my knowledge and need help and advice.
Is there a setting I'm should be adjusting or something else? please any help would be great as I really want the boast in memory.
PS I do have a further 8GB coming Monday and am hoping this issue is something that can be cleared up. Thanks everyone!!

Is this a pcs build or home built? These forums are only for pcs pcs and laptops.

The board supports dual channel memory which means you'll need to have matched pairs of ddr3. Adding the two separate modules may have confused the board when setting voltages and timings.

What cpu do you have? That board will only support upto 1066 with most cpu's.
