Recoil 17 screen issue?

I just noticed this yellow artefact in the corner of my screen, it's most visible when there's a plain black or black borders (for instance borders around videos) shown. This image is switched on with a full black screen displayed.

Just wondering if I should RMA it for a screen replacement?

So different panels have different lighting technologies.

As this is a 240hz screen it’s likely to be an LCD with what’s called “edge lighting”.

That’s where the backlight is actually achieved from lights around the edge of the panel.

To me it looks as through the screen panel in that section has moved forward slightly so that it’s being more illuminated from behind by the edge lighting. You can even make out shadows from the screen surround snap points.

It definitely shouldn’t be like that and it’s a premium chassis, I wouldn’t try fixing it yourself as display panels can be very fragile, they also have extremely fragile connector ribbons that are easily torn.

I would definitely RMA it if you can
