I can get a windows 10 key from work. If say i don't have to shell out cash for the OS, what improvements do you recommend. Should i go for a higher spec CPU or is there something else. Also, dont worry about a wifi card as that will not be required.

Is it purely for gaming? If it is then I would just pocket the savings. The 1060 is never going to bottle neck the 2600X. The chipset/motherboard has life in it thanks to compatibility with the latest chips and potential to be compatible with the next generation.
The only small changes I would make would be to the size of the M2 drive. It's blazingly fast but 256GB is about the minimum by todays standards. Perhaps upgrading it to 512GB or even 1TB would allow far more game storage on there.

I'd say it's well worth £19 for the much better CPU.
And as above, if you don't need the Windows licence, drop it and pocket the difference. Treat yourself to a larger SSD maybe. e.g. 512gb SX6000, or 1TB WD Black (the WD Black being stupidly cheap for what it is right now)

It's also a question of PC's configurators - the Home/Office PC configurator only lets you have the B450 AORUS, which is ~£16-20 more than the B450-PLUS in the Ryzen 3000 configurator. And the B450 Plus has USB 3.1 Gen 2, unlike the AORUS. But yeah, all goes together to make it relatively inexpensive on this site
