Review here:
I have access to Windows 11 Enterprise through my work so I bought the laptop OS free. I am a linux user so I installed it as dual boot after disabling secure boot in the BIOS (through F2 at start-up).
From a free to download of linux slackware 15.0 DVD, with an external DVD drive I could easily choose whether to install slackware either on the second drive (/dev/sda) or on the first, fastest drive (/dev/nvme. the PCIe M.2), which were both detected by the linux disk, but I waited with that until the W11 installaion was sorted.
With a bootable W11 USB disk (approx 8 GB so there was no space for it on a normal DVD) I tried to install W11. Unfortunately the first drive, PCIe, disk was not detected for installation by the bootable USB disk, so I installed W11 on the second SSD. With the support from pcspecialist (very prompt and competent) , I found online and installed the driver to detect the PCIe disk from W11 which was in the list of the recommended drivers for my laptop but not included in a standard W11 installation.
At the moment I have my laptop running in dual boot, via refind to manage booting, with one SSD for each OS and everything works just fine. I am very satisfied with the laptop and with how very linux-freindly everything is.
No issues would have been expected at all if I had bought the system already with the OS on the PCIe, with the other of for the additional OS of for data.
I include an image of the laptop closed, one under linux (with my disk partitions), one with Windows 11 (I split the disk into two parts to separate the OS from my Dropbox and data folder) and one of my BIOS where I can call for refind or other boot options. The only thing I'd like to improve is to permanently switch the order of the items in my BIOS boot menu, as refind is second rather than first. I will consult with the technical support from PC specialist to sort that out, if possible.
