My build is now marked as awaiting dispatch, 11 working days. Rang this morning to see what card was put in the machine and informed it was a Zotac. The batch of cards they got were Zotac so anyone with a 3070 build around now will likely get a Zotac. Pretty mixed reviews on the card from what I have read so fingers crossed. Saying that, my current PCS build has a 2060 Super and I think it's a great card and served me well the past 12 months.

Not to sound like a spoiled brat but personally I would like the Nividia card as opposed to the Zotac, failing that the Gigabyte. I’ve sent my own case in so I have a set preference in my head.

Did they inform you in the change of graphics card before proceeding?

This is my first Pc in 15 years and I’ve spent a significant amount of money to myself on it, I’m currently on 24 days (5950x / 3070) but happy to wait longer for my preferred graphics card.

Sorry to break it to you but you won't be getting a Founder's Edition from PC Specialist. It's not actually a change of graphics card, when you select the '8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070' option you're paying for Nvidia tech, not a specific brand. So you're most likely to get a Zotac, Palit, Gigabyte or Gainward.

If you want a Founder's Edition 3070, you'll have to do what I did and source it yourself.

Adding on to this, the only way to get a specific card from PCS is to order one of the ASUS STRIX models or the TUF 3070 they currently have in. But that said, as they need to get a specific card, you'll likely be waiting a lot longer than the standard 3070 option where they can give you any card they can 'get their hands on'. The ASUS cards also hold a premuim over the standard option, so unless you're obsessed by the design of one of these two cards, I'd stick to the standard option. As far as I'm aware, there's hardly any difference between them all anyway

I was happy with whatever PCS were going to give me to be honest. I'm not into overclocking or anything technical and as I've said have a Zotac 2060 Super which has served me well the past 12 months. The Zotac card looks nice and minimalistic with a nice white lighting effect on the Zotac. However if you're into RGB then you'll definitely be disappointed with it's lack of disco lights.

How can this happen so soon? I thought each build is tested before delivery?

It lasted about 4 hours before it started to show issues, so definitely don't blame them (they're certainly not testing each build for 4 hours ahead of time). They ran it overnight to test the RMA though.

Was a Gigabyte card, has been replaced by Zotac. Not sure how I feel xD

Hello, just wondering how long it took some of you guys to receive your RTX 3070 PCSpecialist builds? I understand it varies by the amount of stock available, time of year, etc so I'm just asking for a rough estimate and wondering how long it took others.

Thanks.

It would be tough to give an estimate given a lot of the time PCS don’t know when stock is going to arrive given the shortages, plus other factors such as knowing how many have ordered in front of you, what other components are in your build etc.

I have a build with a rog strix 3070 in testing, took 13 days.

Switching GPU’s doesn’t affect your place in the queue, not sure where you’re hearing that?
I called PCS and asked about swapping to 3070 because I was told that they were getting 3070 in which would cover my build but guy in sales team told me that I would be out to the back of the 3070 queue, so is best to just wait

Not sure that’s correct, given everyone else’s experience. They have a lot of new customer services reps who may not know the process.
