Tbf he ordered on the same day as you, could just be luck as to who got it. Shows how slow it is though.
No, sorry for the misunderstanding, I was just commenting on his update, I actually ordered the 30th of November and that's why I find it discouraging. PCS have been able to process roughly 24 real world days of orders (from 17th of September to 10th of October), if we suppose they'll keep with this pace, people who have ordered on late November like me are going to wait for 250 working days, that's September 2021! I'm not saying that this will happen because hopefully in the near future supply will be plenty, but until then people will just receive their pcs later and later, I mean, I don't think I'll have to wait 250 wd, but I'm scared i'll have to wait 150, which is end of June!

Again, I know this is a global issue and it's not just for GPUs but for many other components too, I've not been living under a rock for the last 6 months, but to say that PCS is not slow and blame just the pandemic and the global shortages it's not completely fair, let's be real: PCS is not being really competitive with 3080s as of today. People who followed this thread for a while know that many other people have been able to receive a pc much earlier than the folks here. And saying that "I can always cancel my order" is not fair either and too convenient imo, because I, like many others, have relied completely on the good reviews/experiences of PCS and trusted them with our time, which is now gone just like the opportunities that could have been taken with it (buy a GPU in better times for example, like 1 or 2 months ago, when prices were also lower) and there's nothing we can do about it. To be honest I don't really need/care to receive my pc asap, I'm one of the lucky people that already have a working pc, I can't play much on mine because I have a 1050 mobile but I'm able to do my job on it so it's way more than enough to survive, I'm sorry for people that do not have one and will have to wait longer than they wanted, compromising their work/study experiences and who knows what else. l'm also saying this because I think it's fair to say things how truly are, and not to blame just the pandemic, because it's not true. That being said and truly out of my chest, I'll go back to my overall satisfying pc and silently wait for my expensive whim :)

Fair enough, and yeah I agree PCS is doing poorly compared to many other companies. I’m on a 2gb 1050 and it’s pretty tough waiting with a 4K screen in a box for the computer to arrive.
I hadn’t thought of it the way you’ve presented it but it’s pretty dire. Hopefully a large proportion of that was first day orders.

I don't want to kill hopes but you are one of the oldest order and should have noticed that unluckily it's not just a bunch of first day orders that are slowing thigs down... But anyway, you ordered the 14th of October, right? Let's see if you'll be able to get your pc into building before 100wd, that would prove that things are speeding up (I hope for you and for me too 😉), even though it's just a single case and can't be generalized (if for example tomorrow they'll get 100 cards maybe your order will be fulfilled but it could also happen that for another 100 cards batch we'll have to wait 1 more month)

Honestly at this point I don’t get hopeful anymore. What’s sadly most likely is they got an order of less than 5 and a few PCs get built. Next delivery could be at any point in the next 6 months+. I’m expecting 100 wd tbh

PCS are definitely doing worse than their competition at sourcing cards, I don’t think can be argued at this point.

I went with PCS because they built my last computer 3 years ago and I’m a creature of habit, but whilst I recognise that the world I currently on fire with a perfect storm of issues, PCS have managed it poorly in every aspect, and I can’t see myself coming back after this PC (assuming I don’t cancel it, if I can even get through to them via the phone)

I believe you can cancel your order via the website, if that’s the way you feel you must go.

And I don’t imagine it’s that PCS are doing worse at sourcing cards than competitors, I’d suspect it’s because of their good reputation that so many people have come to them to order. From the sites I’ve looked at it doesn’t seem like getting hold of a 3080 in a custom build is something that’s going to happen soon.

That so many people (and not just on this forum) are now willing to pay an extra £500 or more to try to get hold of a 3090 instead speaks volumes about supply and demand.

I don’t think PCS have done it badly, they just did it differently.

Unlike others, PCS offered their customers the ability to order in advance of stock coming in, which is great to lock in prices, etc. but I imagine they had no idea how bad it was going to be in terms of supply constraints.

Stock trickles in every day and I’ve tracked that online with several retailers. So that’s inevitably true for PCS, too.

I ordered from PCS and two others last week and my custom build with 5800X/3080 arrives today, so I just cancelled orders with the other two.

Do not take this post as me whining as i have absolutely taken it on the chin and will be waiting for my order to arrive. (65 days Pre-Prod)

It is very very good to see orders are still being processed on 3080's as this board has gone quiet the last several weeks.

The rest of this post is purely feedback on the order process..

What i fully do not agree with is the fact that once you've placed your order you can amend it to apply parts that were not even released when the initial order was placed. In addition to this you can delay the build date of your PC to further include these "not released" parts but still retain your position in the queue?? (Correct me if i'm wrong)

This is flawed in many ways, in relation to the current stock shortages of very highly popular components.. The backlog of 3080 orders pre 5th of November could now contain 5900x and not the likely i9/i7, Ryzen 5/7 variants introduces further issues down the pipeline of orders.

It would have been PCS only implemented the possibility of changing an order to speed the order up or replace out of stock items..

I waited until 5th of November to order my build to include a 5900x with my 3080... on reflection.. what a terrible mistake that was.

Hey guys,

Been following this thread for many weeks, just thought I'd throw my name in the hat for the sake of it, boredom, desire...

I am on 49 working days having ordered 27th November 2020.

Still got a ways to go yet I can see.
Welcome to 3080 group therapy nice to see you here.

Good afternoon, I just wanted to check in and provide an update.

A certain situation has recently just been brought to our attention. It is quite surprising to see and we apologise for the small number of customers that this has affected.

We have found that some customers have found ways around our internal queue system. This was achieved by ordering a machine with stocked components except for the 3000 series cards. If the customer had already been waiting a reasonable amount of time, let us say our expected standard production window of 25 working days, this is where we have found the problem.

Taking the above situation in to consideration a small collection of orders have seen modifications, this is to change the 3080 to a 6900XT which is now in stock (minimal available). The order then progresses to the picking, building and then testing stage.

Customers have then changed back to the 3080 allowing for priority above others that have not reached the point of picking, meaning that they are allocated a 3080 when they certainly should not have been.

Gladly, this has been caught very early and communication is being pushed through to warehouse management to ensure that this does not continue. We are not aware of any orders making it to dispatch using this method, but it may allow some stock to now flow backwards.

Unfortunately, for the customers that used this method, we will now be stripping the hardware back down to allocate the stock to customers that have waited for their turn.

Our internal auditing has managed to keep our first come first served system intact, but I thought it would be best to let our customers know to provide transparency around the 3000 series situation.

Lastly, PCSpecialist are speaking internally and have sparked several interesting ideas to hopefully allow our 3000 series orders to be monitored accurately, this is in the hopes to provide full communications to give a reasonable expectation to our customers.

I can also confirm that PCSpecialist are now a month ahead of the 3080 launch. Knowing it was launched on the 17th of September we are now dealing with orders processed around the 10-15th of October (e.g., Ryzen 5000 series + NVIDIA 3000 series). Customers in this area should be seeing significant updates in the next couple of days.

Again, we appreciate your patience throughout, and we sincerely look forward to providing machines that meet and exceed all expectations.

Stay safe and take care.

Good to know that it's all being monitored so people can't game the system. :)
