I asked them on the webchat and all the other components for my build are in stock at the moment, except for the 3080.

I amended the PSU to: CORSAIR 1000W AX SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® TITANIUM
It seems like it's a good future-proof option.
Epic PSU and I don't say that lightly, very worthwhile investment if the budget is there.

Ordered a pc with a 3080 and I’ve been waiting about 20 odd days now it’s still in pre production, I know there’s a shortage but anyone with some knowledge able to give me an idea of when I can expect it? Much appreciated

Welp the Great Britain is going back into full lockdown. Being able to leave your house only to go to work really sucks. I did it in April and was working 10 hours a day too...this year is such a dumpster fire.

No one can give any estimation, it’s all down to when manufacturers can get the cards out. Everyone is in the same boat.

None of us work for PCS either so questions like this you’d need to contact them directly.

Yes its not great.
Will this have an impact on PCS getting orders out? I wasnt around on here during the first lockdown so not sure how it went.

I don’t actually live in Britain I’m Irish do you know if PCS are only based in Britain or do they have an Irish base too, bc I ordered from their Irish site. But yeah lockdown sucks

Yeah I’m aware none of you work for them, just putting it out there in case anyone knew anything. But yeah I contacted them and got a fairly half arsed one line response that didn’t even say anything about the card so

As said, no one in the world can give you an expected time frame, if you read through this thread you'll see why. It's the same for everyone in the world.

Literally just putting it out there buddy in case anyone actually knew something, you don’t so that’s fine thank you very much.

The difference in cost wasn't actually that much, especially considering the cost of the whole system (and to be honest I knew absolutely nothing about the pricing of the components so I was ready to spend a bit more than I actually did, so budget-wise it's still fine to do relatively small amendments), and hopefully will last me years.
My goal is to have a good system for at least a decade, with a GPU upgrade somewhere in the middle, so while the wait is not great, it's worth it. I just hope I'll see it before Christmas as we're getting bonus leave around then from the company. Ideally I'd like it sooner (I also have scheduled unused leave), but we'll see how it goes.

I noticed that PCS have updated the main page with details on Christmas orders. Having a poke around the configurator, I see they've added this:

Not overly surprised they've added that about pre-Christmas delivery not being guaranteed. Hopefully Nvidia actually start putting 3080s out in larger numbers and soon.

Im Irish too, ordered on 17th Sept at 2.06pm and PC arrived last Thursday 29th of Oct. I was 28 days in pre-production when it went to build, shipped the following and 2 days later arrived. Was told on a phone call with them weeks ago that a shipment of Zotac, Gigabyte and MSI cards were due in what would now be between last week and next week so could be good news over the next 10 days. Some Palits have also gone out, mine was Gigabyte. The waiting game is tough though......

32 working days today.

I've now fully gone through the frustration stage and come out the other side. Now I wake up every morning with that "is it today", "it's going to be soon" feeling. The fun is now not knowing and the surprise that awaits.
I’m literally the exact same as you mate, 33 working days now and gone through the frustration and toying with the idea of downgrading, now it’s like as you said you come out the other side and know your time is soon. 👍🏼

Me and my Mrs ordered a build for my son on the 17th of September around 2:20 PM, 33 working days waiting so far and it all seems a bit of a mess, We have received around 15 emails saying the build was starting on certain dates around a week later and each time the date came and went.

When i first ordered i asked on the chat page if they had the Asus Strix cards in stock and was told they were there but the lady wasn't sure when they would go up on the site. I wish i was told how little they must have had there.

I said to my Mrs that i would guess that PC Specialist will perhaps get to our order and either makeup part of the build or put the parts aside safely for when the 3080 card turns up in stock, but when i rang them i was told that nothing gets put aside for you and in fact if items are out of stock on your order and you decide to wait for it to come back in stock there is a good possibility that the 3080 card could be used to complete someone else's order.

My build cost over 2 grand and my Case is out of stock and so is my back up option. It just seems a strange way to do things as it feels like some orders might end up getting bumped back multiple times before finally all the parts are in stock.

My next worry is Watchdogs legion. Don't ask me why but it is one of my son's favourite games to play. I read elsewhere that someone was sent Assassins creed instead which has made me wonder if as time goes on there is a possibility the game that comes with the build suddenly can change without warning? I would normally consider that madness, but considering everything else, is it?

I really do understand that the 3080 is in high demand worldwide but surely PC Specialist could iron out some of these problems to give the customer a little more faith in the system? We have handed over thousands of pounds to a company to build us a PC, the same company that spam me with multiple emails a day sometimes giving me 3 different build dates and telling me its good news.

Anyways that's my moan over. I'm sure its a lot more complicated than I understand. Covid and Nvidia haven't made this easy for them as well.

Very well put and I feel ya, I do feel for all of you weather you’re happy waiting or not.

This year just sucks big time! Almost all of my vinyl pre orders have been delayed, one I’ve been particularly after which is the first repress of George Michael’s Symphonica (the original is valued at over £300 for a good copy) has been delayed from March this year to September then December then January next year until it was finally cancelled last week.

Amazon don’t do next day delivery for us anymore on prime orders, it’s now 2 days as standard.

Unfortunately what’s happening is that orders just aren’t getting fulfilled, we’re hearing that it’s literally dribs and drabs of nvidia stock being sent, I even doubt that PCS have had their full allocation of their initial order of 3080’s yet. And that’s where the complication lies. Their systems rely on full orders arriving on time, they’re put into the system when they’re ordered and that’s what the system reports on, but they don’t know when the shipments are going to arrive because often they’re delayed or outright cancelled, and even when they do arrive it’s only part fulfilled.

It sucks.

But I would implore you guys, just hang in there, put the delivery date out of your mind and just accept it will turn up when it turns up.

And any advice you can offer PCS based on your experience of the automated emails and communication, send an email outlining it to [email protected] as that will be of great benefit to them going forward. Try not to attack, just offer suggestions based on your experience.

If you really have had enough and you want to make a complaint, send an email to [email protected], you can always cancel and save it for another time once these stock issues have sorted themselves out.

You would need to ask PCS about the promotional games that are attached to your order.

You should get Watch Dogs Legion if you ordered in the first few hours of the 3080 going live. Apparently the promotion went quite quickly.

I ordered mine on the 20th September and have been assigned Call of Duty that I’m quite disappointed with.

Don't worry regarding the game choice, I didn't even receive my email with the codes so I contacted them and they sent me a Watch Dogs link yesterday. Hang in there!!
