RX 6800 Wait Times

I didn't see another thread tracking availability and wait times for the 6000 series so I hope this is ok.

I ordered a build with an RX 6800 and 5600X today - I narrowly missed out when the RX 6800 was in stock and I guess I ordered a couple of hours after it went out of stock again and got put on the waiting list. I guess I shouldn't have been so indecisive and ordered it yesterday when I wanted to!

I'm hoping I won't be on the waiting list too long. The fact that it seemed to be in stock for a few days before going back out today gives me some hope that there's a decent supply, and as I only ordered a couple of hours after it went out of stock I hope I'll be pretty high on the waiting list too.

Does anybody have any idea of the typical wait times for the 6000 series and how frequent deliveries are? I think the situation is not as bad as with the NVIDIA cards but I'm not sure. Has anybody had a very long wait on these cards recently?

If it makes a difference I'm in Spain and ordered from the Spanish PC Specialist website but I get the feeling that all of the PCs are built in the UK and the stock goes through there?

Sorry to hear that RX 6000's card are out of stock and you missed buying one.

I ordered my new PC Yesterday 21/02/2021

Wow I ordered my pc just in time when the AMD Radeon™ RX 6800 XT Graphics was in stock.

Lucky me I guess :D

I see the 8GB GEFORCE RTX 2060 SUPER is also out of stock. It was in stock yesterday.

No one on PCS forums will know when PCS will get a new order RX 6000's cards in.

Sorry we can't help you, You can try phoning PCS and asking when they will get a new order of RX 6000's in.

That's a shame to hear! The forum is run by fans of of PCS and most of us have no affiliation with PCS. There are a few PCS staff that pop in every now and then but it's not very common. If you'd like an answer I'd give PCS a call or an email or use their messaging system on your account page (it's near the top labled tech support). As with the 30 series GPU's they might not be able to give you a concrete date but stock levels do seem better for the 6800 than the 3000 Series cards as it sounds like there's actual stock.

Although I must warn you that call wait times are long for most and have heard of many people waiting over an hour to chat. If you'd like to call I'd recommend calling as soon as they open (9AM GMT Mon-Sat) for the sortest wait time. Alternatively, if you email them, responses are taking about a week to get back to and I believe the messaging system is slightly faster.

It shouldn't make a difference at all, it'll be a queue system where it's based on a first come first serve so it's lucky you got near the front of the queue. All PCS PC's ae built in the UK then will be shipped to Spain for delivery to you.

Best of luck

Thanks for the replies. I understand that nobody can tell me when the next delivery will be, I'm just wondering if anybody else has had to wait for these cards recently and can share their experience or if we can crowdsource a guess at roughly how frequently deliveries tend to come. I'll just keep my fingers crossed. :)

I'll also keep my own experience updated in this thread so anyone else going for an RX 6800 can get a sense of how it's going.

Without wanting to dampen your hopes, I don't think that means you have a 6800xt saved and put aside for your build, just that it was in stock when you clicked order. And it now isn't

I hope I got the last one was in stock, because I have not got a email from PCS that I have been put on the waiting list for RX 6800 XT.

Again I don't think they pre-allocate out components that early as soon as you press order. So I doubt it. The 'in stock' or 'out of stock' listings on the configurator only tell you if it's in stock right now, not whether it will be in stock when your PC goes into building, which might not be for another month or so. I thought they only pre-allocated out the really rare items like 5950x, 5900x and 3080s to those who were in the higher numbers for working days of waiting. Maybe wrong though.

I think you are right, because ive reading on the 3080s thread that's all the parts has got to be in stock for PCS to build my PC, If PCS don't have the all the parts, PCS will put the RX 6800 XT in another PC Build if that PC build as got all the other PC parts are in stock.

What I am trying to say PCS wont save GPU's for you, you have to wait till all of your other parts be in stock and the GPU for PCS will build your PC.

I only can hope that all my other PC parts that I ordered don't run out stock when PCS get around to build my PC or I will lose my RX 6800 XT to another customer build and I will be put on the waiting list for RX 6800 XT's.

I could be in the same boat as OBJECTIONNE 😟

Update: I moved into pre-production today after four working days. Now the real waiting game begins. :) I'll update if/when I move into build or if I'm waiting for a long time for the stock.

The lack of activity in this thread at least fills me with hope that the demand for these isn't anywhere near as high as with the NVIDIA cards, just really hoping the supply is decent.

Well I ordered on the 18th everything was in stock but still in pre production. I messaged them today and they said I was in pre order for the 6800xt which was the first time I heard that. So trying to gauge how long people have been waiting.

I received this email this morning. It was in Spanish but translated it's:

We are processing your order (number #######) and we will try to send it to you as soon as possible. Your order takes between 5 and 6 business days to process. Due to the way our production facility operates, orders sometimes take longer to enter the assembly and testing process. However, you can be sure that we will try to ship your order as soon as possible. Once assembled, orders typically ship within 2-3 days.

On average, we currently ship PC orders in 10-12 business days, laptop orders 19-21 business days, and Liquid Series® orders in 46-48 business days.

This is the average shipping time frame, so it is natural for some orders to take longer. As soon as we have news about the status of your order, we will send you an email.
I assume this is just a generic automated email and doesn't really mean anything? Between 5 and 6 business days sounds very very unlikely with the way things are now.

Onto 9 working days today. I decided to give PCS a call just to see if there might be any info on upcoming deliveries as I see people in other threads being told "we're getting a delivery next week" or whatever.

I was told that they *might* be getting some new stock of RX 6800 this month but it might not be until April and no certainty even then. 😱

I'm thinking of being impatient and dropping down to RTX 3060 which seems to be shipping quickly but it's a pretty big step down.

A 3060 is a massive drop imo but depends on how bad you need a pc? I will stay in the queue for now. I'm not in a massive rush so have time to wait.

If you’re pairing it correctly with your monitor a 3060 won’t be powerful enough at all.
