SATA SSDs and 17" chassis

Hi all,

I'm considering buying a 17.3" chassis from PCSpecialist and I wanted to know if I can reuse my data SSD, which is a Crucial MX500 with a SATA connection. I'm asking because all of the SSD choices are NVMEs which are much smaller.

Can I insert it in any of the 17.3" laptops? What about the warranty if I do that?

Thanks!

The crucial MX500 is a 2.5” SSD so you will need to find a chassis that takes that.

If it only labels M2 in the configurator then no it will not fit.

Looking through the 17" - it looks like its only the Elimina that now has room for a 2.5" SSD

also the Initia as well.

Thank you for your answer. With only 3 USB ports I'm afraid this cannot be an option for me though :)

What about the Recoil, it seems to be noticeably thicker than the others?

If you go into the configurator for each of the laptops, you will see a Detailed Specification button - here is a copy from the Recoil and I've put the hard drive section here too which you can see it only has the M2:
