Screen black on start up

Hope someone can help me

I few months ago on computer start up I would get a blinking screen for a few seconds then all fine.
This has progressed now to on start up the screen stays blank until I put password in and then navigate blind to a application load it up and wait maybe a minute or so at that stage the screen wakes up and I can use ok with a game.

When the game is closed and I am just Web browsing after a few mins I start getting the blinking screen once more and I have to have a application or game running in the background for this blinking not to happen

Any help would be amazing
Thabk you

We love you Ukraine
November 16 was bought
Had new paste in 2020

I will post a pic when home from work

Thank you
It will be due a repaste, really needs to be done once a year, even moreso on a DTR

Windows update status would definitely be beneficial also.

Sorry to jump on your thread OP, but what is this repaste that people talk of?
Where you clean off the existing thermal paste and reapply.

Thermal paste in laptops degrades quickly. Any performance laptop needs a repaste about once a year to maintain temps. It's normal maintenance.

Otherwise you face throttling, then overheating and then death.
