Second hand PC

Hi there,

I've not owned a desktop PC since 2013 so I'm not well aware of the current market value, specs and so on.

I've used laptops for work for a while, but now I'm setting up a home office (thanks COVID) but I'm on a very tight budget. I was going to set up a desk with a monitor for my laptop, but my best friend decided to want to get rid of his own desktop PC.

It's over 2 years old. I don't know the full detailed specs, but from what I know it has AMD Ryzen 5 2600, nVidia GTX 1080 8GB, 16 GB RAM.

Would anyone be able to tell the estimated value of these? I checked on eBay and used parts go for like £80-100 for the CPU, £230-260 for the GPU.

I will be doing mostly work on it (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and a few others) which my much slower laptop is handling well, but I will also be casually gaming. I don't need 4K, 120fps or whatever, as long as it plays most games around 50-60FPS on Medium. Is this set going to work for that?

As this is a PC Specialist owned forum, I'm afraid we can't make comment on matters such as re-selling. But tech depreciates fast, it might be worth much more to one person than another individual. If I were you I'd continue to check eBay and Gumtree, see what similar things are going for and make an offer based on that.
