I am looking on eBay at 3 ready assembled desktop PC's which are designed around gaming. I have a budget limit of $1050 and have run into a few questions regarding motherboard and case. I will supply my own operating system, keyboard, mouse and screen. The general build goes as follows:

CPU - Ivy Bridge Intel i5 3570k
RAM - 8gb DDR3 1333MHz
HDD - 1gb SATA III Hard Drive
Motherboard - B75M Pro OR for $50 more 4th Gen Z77 Pro
DVDRW - Generic
Case - Generic with 2 USB ports at the front OR Thermaltake V3 for $30 or V4 for $55
GPU - 1G GTX 660
Power supply - Generic 850W

Here is the link - [Edit by Rakk: no links to PC's built by other people please]

Seems very expensive for what it is. Graphics card isn't the best and and you'd be better looking at a 2gb GTX 660Ti or a 670. Standard hard drive will read a lot slower than what something like a Caviar Black drive would and 850w power supply seems very high for the hardware. Max really should be about 750w and that's if you plan to SLI in the future.

I would personally steer well clear of ebay, most people are trying to make a profit off something that isn't worth the money, very rare to be offered any kind of warranty or after sales service so you're a bit stumped as soon as you come across a small problem and plus you just don't really know what you're going to get. No guarantee of the parts being genuinely new, installed correctly, etc. I would stick to more reputable sites that offer an after sales service and at least a 1 year warranty.

Im guessing you're in the states so probably can't order for PC Specialist but I imagine there are plenty more like them over there.
