Self Isolation Gaming Station

Hi PC Specialists,

So we are going to be home a lot with little work to do! I'll be honest, I basically only play CS:GO, but would like the option to move in to other games I suppose! Currently using my trusty HP Pavillion which really isn't going to get me to where I want to be.

I'll need the works, monitor to machine with a budget of approximately £1500 for the lot. Would someone be happy to offer some spec advice?

I guess some further information might be useful:

My work consists of using websites and some light video / image editing

I use a few peripherals

I'd like to be able to upgrade with new hardware as required

This is a pretty top notch build for 1080p 144Hz, PSU has plenty of spare room for upgrading the GPU in the future and leaves you £250 for a good 1080p 144Hz Freesync monitor (I would buy from elsewhere as PCS offerings leave a little to be desired):

Something like this would offer good performance. It would want to be paired with a 1080P monitor as the budget isn't really there for 1440p....

Hi Both,

I went with this spec, thank you very much for your help with the build I really appreciate it.

Quick question though, I went with the Ryzen 7 which has come with a stock cooler, but this isn't the Wraith Prism I was expecting, I see you've mentioned the coolers in a number of threads being good, but what I've been supplied with looks very basic. Were you aware that PCS are not sending out the Wraiths on their CPUS?

What spec? The one I suggested had a cooler? The stock cooler wasn't recommended with the Ryzen 7, only with the 3600.

I was under the impression that the 3700X came with a Wraith Prism cooler.

Looks like this:

Yeah that's what I thought see. So just wanted to let you know they've not supplied that. They have supplied what looks like a wraith spire

Give them a call. It's possible they have made a mistake with the fan selection :)
