Thanks for the suggestion, but my 'office' is toasty enough when I put all 4 computers on at the same time.

You definitely need more, anything under 10 is just wasteful really. Think of your poor energy supplier, they need those bucks!

I used to work in an office that had no heating in it, wore short sleeves all year round,it was next to the boiler room and I had a PC, a sun sparc machine, 2 large CRT monitors and several printers

I used to take my bacon or sausage butties with me to work, and keep them warm on top of our Eizo monitors until lunchtime.
