The Aussie spinner has passed away of a suspected heart attack at the age of 52.

I’m a proud Lancastrian but unlike many of my contemporaries I’m not a big lover of the cricket. But what I do love is snooker and football and some of that bleeds into this post. What some sportsmen can do is nothing short of breathtaking. Ronaldinho made the football an integral part of his body. Ronnie O’Sullivan looks at 22 snooker balls as one giant causal web.

What Shane Warne could do with a cricket ball seemed to defy physics. He’ll be remembered as a trailblazer and I’m sure there’ll be a trophy named after him in the near future.
