Should I install all the drivers that came with my new laptop?

Or only the ones that Windows 10 cannot find?

Windows normally installs almost everything.

I ordered my laptop with no OS.

Thanks

If you ordered with no OS then you should install your own copy of Windows and then run Windows Update repeatedly until no more updates are found. This will install all the necessary drivers. DO NOT simply activate the OS that happens to be on the drive, that's just a testing system and may not be installed fully nor configured correctly.

The drivers on the PCS supplied disk are likely out of date.

Thanks, I understand that.

But after all Windows Updates have completed, would you still install drivers from PCSpecialist?

Will the ones Windows Update have found be the same or as good as PCSpecialist drivers ?

I always stick to the Windows drivers unless problems or there are specific ones such as graphics card, then I down load from say Nvidia.

i have never really used a copy from pc builder.

if problems, such as my scanner did not work with Windows drivers, I went to Canon site and downloaded.

Only if they were not installed by WIndows Update (check in Device Manager to see). There may well be some control software (Gaming Center for example) that Windows Update will never install, these would either be installed from the disk provided by PCS or (better still) from the Clevo download site if it's a Clevo chassis. Other chassis may need control software found in the downloads section of your build on the main PCS website.

In short, Windows Update will find and install all drivers, but not any other control or monitoring software that PCS or the chassis vendor supply.

In most cases the Windows Update drivers will be better than those on the PCS disk, simply because they are newer. With Windows 10, WIndows Update does an excellent job of finding the best drivers. The only exception may be the graphics card driver. These change so often that the Windows libraries might not have the very latest version - you should download that from the graphics card vendor website (Nvidia for example).

Note also that some laptops have wireless cards that the basic Windows drivers cannot fully support. If you have any difficulties running Windows Update or installing drivers through Windows Update then you should cable connect your laptop to your router whilst you run Windows Update (the basic Windows LAN drivers work with all LAN interfaces).
