Anyone else having the forums turn Pound signs into question marks?

Yes, same here, only started a couple of days ago.

Happening for me in Firefox.

I thought this might be an (albeit belated) april fools....

But it happens to me too (Firefox) - I tried to see if 'go advanced' would cause the change too but it doesn't, only when you click post does it change.

??? pounds signs (and they appear as pounds signs when typing), so if they change it's not my PC doing it.

Website displays text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 as the character encoding,

Wayback machine for the forum shows it's been that way for at least a year so nothing changed on the output

Likely the database encoding is in UTF-8,

It's likely they updated the database and didn't select the correct character encoding,

as far as i can see its already been done,

when the old tables were migrated to the new ones, it appears the initial intended symbols have been lost so all old posts are stuck with the ? marks but since all future posts are stored with the new character encoding they will be correct.

Well something may have been done to fix the £ symbols, but the forums have not been updated yet as far as I know, for a start there has been no down time this afternoon (and the mods do tend to get told - mainly to watch out for oddities)
