Sims 4 laptop

My girlfriend is going to be on maternity leave soon and will want something to do when the baby is sleeping. She wants to play sims 4 but I'm not too sure what laptop to get.
I would like it to have 8gb ram and a dedicated graphics card. I guess you guys know much more than me. Would anyone be able to suggest something to me for around £500.
Thankyou in advance :)

Ok no worries :) I have a desktop I built on dinopc and it has just got ruined from a virus but we have also moved house so there is no room to have a desktop anyway. But any laptop suggestions would be useful :)

I don't think you would need an i5 for The Sims. It is not a demanding game at all and you can save some money by going with the lowest i3. The GT 840M would also be ok for The Sims, as I said, its not all that demanding and doesn't require a high end PC. Scroll down to the game benchmarks of this page and you will see how it performs: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-840M.105681.0.html

Sadly there is nothing lower at the moment and integrated graphics would not be able to run the game very well at all.

Getting the gt 840m will save me quite a bit of money.
Would she be able to play it on high setting with that or does the graphics card not have anything to do with those settings? Sorry I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to this

As Wozza said The Sims 4 Is not a demanding game at all,my daughters laptop has a GT 540M and can run the game on high settings no problem.

The gt840m will be sufficient for now, the gtx850m will be better and more more futureproof, I would be worried about the 840m's ability in 18 months time (however I tend to worry about things for no reason often ;) ).

The 840m and 850m are the same price on the configurator, the difference is that you need to configure a 1080p screen for the 850, thus for the extra price you are getting a nicer screen aswell as the graphics card. I have just bought the Cosmos ii with an i7-4710 and gtx850m so in my opinion it was worth the extra to get the futureproofing.
